Fred, after I passed you, I got to wondering where Kasey was.
I expected to see him still waiting at the overpass for the others to show up. He wasn't there, but I did see.... well, heard him first... coming up the mountain on 211. I wondered why he
was coming back up the mountain. Now I know. It was great seeing some new faces. Hope to see you guys again.

i'll admit that i had at least 70% responsibility in getting us to Massenutten. at least we had a GPS to finally convince us to turn around.

we had a good ride after the stop at Skyland. we were stuck behind some slow-goer's for a bit but then it cleared up for a few miles - we definitely were in disregard to the 35mph speed limit on a few straight aways and probably around a few turns. i'm only sorry i didn't let Army take the point a littler earlier since we caught up with more traffic pretty soon after he was in the lead.

also, what i found really cool was the difference in climates along the way. we'd go from bright sunshine to zero-visibility fog and back in no time. that was really cool.

thanks Gene for organizing.

i'm up for a local ride with anyone whenever y'all want. unfortunately my bike's mostly a commuter so i'm always up for something a little more enjoyable.
