Today I noticed a oil patch below my SM. It seems to be coming from one of the overflow pipes below. The only thing I think it could be is, oil from a recently fitted uni air filter, could it be coming from the carb over flow pipe ?
There's no sign of oil from any of the engine casings
Any idea's ...

Is there any oil in your airbox? It could be from the filter. The most common problem I've heard is oil blowing out the crankcase breather tube and into the airbox.

If you over oiled the filter it will drip for a while. Check the oil to see if has a yellow tint if it does it probably is the uni filter oil.

Hi.....Is there a way that an over oiled air filter can discard oil from one of the over flow's below ?

Yes, one of those "overflows" is actually a breather hose (they ALL are actually) that comes from the airbox. If you over-oil your afternarket filter the oil will collect in the airbox and dribble out the breather.

Also, over oiling the air cleaner can cause the oil to drip out the breather hose below and aft of the transmission, just in front of the rear tire, and just UPWIND of your disk brakes. This can oil you brake disk, causing you to not have any rear brakes!! (been there, done that!). If much oil is coming out, best to take out the air cleaner and squeeze out the extra oil.

Some oil in the airbox drain hoses is normal, especially after freshly oiling a uni filter. Part of the service proceedure is to pop the plugs and drain the hoses.
It sounds like your drain plugs are gone, and it would be a good idea to replace them as open drain hoses can allow unfiltered air into the intake.
