Very nice, job well done. Couple of questions for you, what sort of rake is that? What's the front end off? And how's it affect the handling?

well, All shiny parts i.e. lower forks, rear tail light assembly, rear fender supports, clutch & brake lever, chrome battery retainer were powdercoated black, the rear pegs were lowered and the billit aluminum hanger was powdercoated as well. TBA sprocked cover was replaced with a chrome T-100. Fork gaitors replaced the metal shrouds and the origional hub to the stock front wheel was sent off to be re-laced and trued to a 21" rim to fit a 120 tire. Now, once you go from a 19" stock to a 21" you change the rake and trail to a negative trail. to compensate for this the "math" dictated a 3.75 degree rake. Hence new triple trees. the new rake compensated for the new 21" tire and brought the trail back into the green range . as far as performance. it rides as crisp as it did with the 19" but in person, just looks like it has that special attitude.....and is noticibly longer. ... Tail light is a 1958 Lucus tail light. Turn signals are off a Thunderbird and have had the stems removed and are "butted up close" on the bike. The rear fender was just cut to please ( yea, that looks good, cut it there !) Rear shocks are stock.

well, not sure on the term de-rake but, the stock rake was 29 degrees and we added 3.75 for a sum total of 32.75 (33) to compensate the trail by going to the 21" with the 120 tire..all in all it moved the front axel about 1.4 inches forward with the new trees.

hmmmmm. The Triumph factory numbers are, 29 degree rake with a 114mm trail. Neck height of 37.5"..................
With the 3.75 deg rake in the new triple tree the new rake is 32.75 with a new trail of 3.79" and a front stretch of 1.4 inches due to the new rake. with the new 21" tire the overall length is increased by 3.4".........................

Hey Dan, Outstanding bike you have there. Front end looks great!! On the numbers, I'd listen to biker (Ed). I got to see his handmade girder front end in NY recently and there is NO question, he knows his sh!te! Brilliant work Ed. Check this out:

I have an observation here....
Both this bike and Ed's have short pipes, and they both look like the front of the bike got raised in the process of the girder. Optical illusion?

Biker.... I do not know... the information I got on my '02 from the folks in Noonan, GA was the 29 degrees... that is also the measurement at the shop before we started our modifications (not saying your numbers are incorrect) but the numbers I had and worked with and the results, i.e. handeling, stretch figure , etc,,, are spot-on... all I can testify to is what I have and proven on mine,, no offense ,
