I'm getting ready for the longest bike trip (1200 or so miles round trip) I've made on the America. I'll be leaving Rustburg,(near Lynchburg) VA on Friday Oct 6th early AM (4:00 or so) traveling to see triple header racing at the world's fastest speedway. Friday evening will be the ARCA event, Saturday will be the first ever race for the Craftsmen trucks at Talladega and Sunday will be the Nextel Cup show. Let's see, a long weekend off, a new Airhawk butt pad, new Michelin Commanders, a new mp3 player, an extended BA bike ride, camping at the best campground in the area (Racefever RV Park on the westbound side of Speedway Blvd. 1/2 mi W of the speedway entrance), three days of racing, great food over charcoal, I won't know how to come back to the real world on that Monday. Oh well, it will be good for my sanity. I can hardly wait, like a kid at Christmas.... If you haven't been to Talladega, go, it is an awesome place. Come on down.

Man, sounds like a blast....I'm only about 35 miles from Talladega, but my bike is a Coweta Custom Cycles in Newnan(day 3 now) awaiting for them to figure out what's wrong with it. Hope you have a great time, and BE SAFE!!!

Give me a shout when you come to the race; I'll take you to the Barber museum and 29 Deams.

Any landing you can walk away from is a good one.

Thanks gaspipe109, but I'll be busy while I'm there. It's a whirlwind trip with just about every minute occupied with something or other. Is the Barber Museum and 29 Deams in Birmingham? We come to 'dega every spring, maybe then I'll have more free time.

Talladega is a great track! The weather is generally good for the fall race weekend. Ride safe & have fun!

I'll look for you on the road. I'll be driving down from Tennessee on Friday. If you see a blue on black speedy with a guy with the Empire emblem on his helmet, that's me.

Jason, I'll keep an eye out for ya, as I'll be coming through Knoxville Friday. Then it's I-75, I-24, I-59 to Gadsden then 77 towards Rainbow City. I take a left (E) on 78 in Lincoln go 1/2 mi., rt on Dry Valley road which ends on Speedway Blvd. My bike is an America , with Mulberry/Silver British Flag tank loaded with gear.
