I got an email from JT today after communication with them about the issue of no available sprocket for our bikes. There is one they offer, the JTR1332, but it does not come in 42 teeth. However, he just told me thay are going to start offering it in 42 ? So we will finally have an option for an aftermarket STEEL sprocket for our bikes at a reasonable price. They won't be available however for 2 months, but it's good to know we will finally have a source I guess it pays to talk to manufacturers ! I told him that there are no other manufacturers offering steel sprockets for us and that if they made one they have a monopoly on it aside from the OEW part which is more than double the price. This sprocket should be priced the same as the one i bought that turned out not to fit which was $32 after shipping. A far cry from triumph's $70 sprocket !I don't know if i'm going to wait or go with the current 41 tooth 1332. Probably the latter because i like the 17 tooth front, but i fear an 18 would be a little higher than i want. So going to a 41 rear would give me e little higher gearing w/o going as high as a 18 front would get me.

Thanks Dale. A little persistence pays off. I should be OK for two months.

Daz I just ordered the 41t from MAW today. Said it will be in about five days. I do more highway riding than street. BTW I'm running a 19t front sprocket.....Angelis

I think i'm gonna be doing the same tomorrow. With your 19 you'll be even a tad higher with the 41. Probaby about 30% the amount you'd get adding another tooth to the front from what i've been told.

Bill....i won't cuz i have a new chain and need it now. but to tell you the truth i was considering a 18 tooth front but was afraid it would be too high. So a 41 rear might be just right.....a tad higher gearing but not as much as going to a 18 so i doubt it will be too high for me. Plus it'll lengthen my wheel base back to stock since the 17 front had me bring the wheel forward to adjust the chain correctly. May not matter much, but i do like a long wheelbase and every little bit helps. So i believe i'm going with the 41. The JT finish looks a little rough, but i sanded it with some fine (#600) wet and dry a bit then polished it out with simichrome and it looked beautiful. Almost like chrome. Whoever gets that sprocket i returned to MAW is going to like it ! I'll be doing the same to the 1332 when i get it.

By the way, might wanna put something about this new sprocket in the tech vault and update it with the model # once it's out. And mention the JTR1332 which is the same except no 42 tooth version, but 41 and 43. I wish i had known this when i began this search. Would have saved me some headaches and a lot of time. So in the vault it could helps others to avoid what i went thru. This is just the kind of info we need there. Also, Renthal sprockets who i also had conversations with emailed me today to say they found a model in thier lineup that will work for our bikes, but i think that email is in a folder at work i can't get to from home. In any case i can't confirm thats for sure. But the JT info is solid. I even ordered the 1332 today in 41 tooth.
