So I don't know how it happened, maybe it was loose and just fell out, or maybe a Harley guy stole it but I was riding down the road after filling up with petrol and I started to smell petrol pulled up and saw fuel poring out of the right side carb bowl! so needless to say I hit the kill switch and turned the fuel tap off asap.

On inspection the carb bowl drain screw was completely missing!!! I fixed it with some RTV pretty easily but now want to know can these be purchased individually or shall I just leave the RTV there????

Take the other one out and go to a hardware store with it.

Bike Bandit shows the screw (#16) even though it's labelled as a "carb synch screw". This is from the America listings.

carb parts

Since this screw shuts off the flow of gas I would imagine it is a special application to bottom out in a seat. I never had one out and looked at it though. I'd check other bike shops for a replacement. As for the RTV, I wouldn't trust it too long....

Benny: It's actually a very fine thread with a taper end so i doubt a hardware store would have it.

Grump: Thanks for that link. I have the part number now so will go and order it, cheers.
