Help! My RH carb (2002 Boony)was running rich with the screw all the way in (40 pilot jet-now called a 42 I believe) despite a Unifilter and TORs. Taking the mixture screw out, half the rubber O ring fell out and some minute rubber particles. There was no metal washer, so I imagine someone graunched the spring into the rubber. I contacted my local Kawasaki Dealer- no dice. Steve Collins doesn't have any. Does anyone have a couple of O rings to spare or point me somewhere? I will send a crisp $10 bill to anyone who can fix me up.. Problem is dealers don't want to special order 50 cent O rings. I went to the Kaihin website but could find nothing on our carbs whatsoever.Bellacorse don't stock OEM stuff. PROBLEM2. My LH carb has the correct O ring (worn maybe) and washer, but I have to screw it all the way in for the best idle speed, plus a plug examination shows the mixture actually looks pretty good.Could this be a float level issue?? DINQUA are you out there lurking?? Thanks Stu 352 489-3458

From Tech Vault: Quote:
honda part # 16075-KG8-901 is a honda mixture screw o-ring. it is like $2 and change for 1 and can be ordered as 1 or more.

Do breathing mods make much difference at idle and low throttle position/RPM? Seems to me that less restrictive pipes and air box mods or running pods and the like would come into play higher up the curve.

Sounds like you want to fix this tomorrow (Sunday)? Problem is, most bike shops are closed.
I would suggest ACE or perhaps an auto parts store. Take both O-rings with you and find the best fit and if necessary, deal with a bike shop on Tuesday...

Breathing mods (more air) do make a difference across the entire throttle range, but more so higher up, less down low.

My local ASE store (where I got my needle shims) closed Sat at 12pm. Opens Tuesday despite John Maddens ads for Labor Day Sales.Trouble with living in a small town. NAPA, Autozone didn't have any.Currently, sliced off a piece of thich walled vinyl tube as a stop gap. So far nobody had opinioned why the "good" side has to be screwd all the way in.

The good side may be due to the differences in the carbs/valves and pressure on that particular side. Most likely due to the variences in the carbs. Many folks end up with different numbers of turns on each carb, I do, because of these small differences. It is very common. The two turns out is just a starting reference point. The differences in the carbs are due to casting differences, vacuum, diaphram elasticity, float levels etc. The carbs are not identical when it comes to these minute differences. Hope that helps answer that part for ya.
