such language!!??
i merely meant to add a touch of levity by showing that 3 other threads running on the same subject would not dissuade the fervency of desire of so many members to hear any chance of news of the possibility of a larger cruiser!
please untwist your undies - you'll feel better.

Hey Jeff, It's gonna happen. Everyone here is a cruiser rider. Most want a bike that will outrun a hardly-ableson other than the stock 883. Dingua, Jango and a few others did something about it. The new cruiser will be here, but I already knew that. It is something needed and Triumph will make it happen. The America is their best seller now, but they know a bigger bike along that line is what will bring Triumph back to the forefront and again be the world's best motorcycle. Wow! I knew that too! The only thing that has been done to my bike besides routine maintenance and consumables, is the mods I've done myself (at 36,000 miles). These bikes compare to BMW in quality, and Honda has some catching up to do. Dennis
Ride Safe,
Dennis

no body is cryin wolf !
in the last 3 years there have likely been 1000 new posts regards rumors of a new cruiser & half of them have been a joke as well that I ALSO visited.
i'll continue to visit each new one whether it be an actual picture when it does happen or a photo of a trojan horse.
when it comes right down to it has anyones post been "true"?
speculation & dreamin done by all.
don't read anymore posts on the subject. I'LL ANNOUNCE when it's really true!

I think 3 years ago there was a new cruiser or two. They were both a little more than two years in the making. They were also a surprise to most. So the idea of "spy photos" is the only argument you have. Triumph is apparently very good at keeping new models hidden from the fact finders.
No matter what you believe, it doesn't change the truth.
A new cruiser (to fill a void) is in the mill. The Rocket III is a cruiser. Where have you been? Go back to your Harley boutique and dream away. That's what you want anyway.

better to question where you have been!!!
1st. off you'll never see me in an HD boutique but you mighta caught me in a Harley shop as late as 1971 attempting to justify a Hog after the bowling ball company took over. couldn't make the leap.
regards the "new cruiser" talk everyone here speaks of ....... to my knowledge the only one we've all sought is a larger displacement model based on the speedo & america's lines. i continue to count myself amongst those who want to see that bike happen.
as to 'other' new cruisers i personally only consider the R3 , speedy & america as 'Cruisers'. everything else is either vintage, sportbike or cafe.
i did make reference awhile back to spy photos but so did a few other guys. someone asked me to post them & i could not as my history is auto deleted daily. i found them again about 3 weeks later somewhere else. these were larger shots so you got a pretty good look at the rear end. the bike in question is obviuosly not a cruiser but a sport bike as was witnessed by it's suspension & rearend cosmetics. if i knew how to transfer pics from my screen to site i'd have posted but it's only the photographer 'claiming' this bike is a new 1300 cc bike.
oh yes, without doubt i believe Triumph will be introducing a larger displacement cruiser based on the present configuration & i certainly hope of the engine design greybeard projects as possible. the sooner the better as far as i am concerned & whether i buy that bike or an R3 remains to be seen cause part of the reason i want that bike out is so that Triumph has somethin in the same weight class that'll flat out smoke every twin cam 88 out there instead of everyone talkin bout beatin sporty's!!! I sincerely want it to become household language that everyone knows Triumphs blow away Hd's.
you may not like my very little joke which in my opinion at best was good for a grin & certainly not worthy of insult.
you can choose to dislike me for whatever reason & call me all manner of names & i'll likely not care.
do not , however, question my loyalty to Triumph motorcycles of any vintage as i even forgive the youth of the world for riding sport bikes as long as it reads Triumph on the tank. i could buy a new speedy & an R3 for what i own in Triumph parts sittin in my basement. it is bad enough that i live in a county full of inbreds with iq's of about 75 that can only think HD & give me & my beautiful 71 bonny billy badass looks at stop signs but to be called an HD fan at this site is intolerable!!!
i forgive you !!! ..... only cause the POPE died & HE SAID I SHOULD!!

LOL- true true. And I'll probably still visit all the threads too as they come up. Like you I believe that Triumph is/will come out with a bigger displacement bike based on the BA. They are good at keeping secrets.

Just to fuel the debate a little more a discussion with my local dealer two days after he had been to the dealer conferance at Hinkley My comment was "I can't ever see me with a R3 cos I like the ethos of the bonny based "BIKE"" and he nigh on promised me the option for a parrallel twin based cruiser ala SM/BA looking like a "motorcycle" over 1200cc possibly 2006. Ive already told him YES,,, eyes and ears wide open.. cheers

I'm with you on the ethos of the BA, but the R3 is an awesome ride nonetheless. Rode it at Laconia least year, and still lusting...

i finally stopped at the dealer about a month ago. got there about half hour before closing time so he wouldn't let me take it out.
what everyone had said is true.... it loses alot of it's awkward appearance in person.
this guy has been around since the 50's & weathered the storm with service but had to add kawi to his trump & guzzi line to get through. i sat on the R3 1st & was amazed at how light it felt to flick back & forth. doubtless it's alot of bike but it didn't feel like 700 + lbs. then i sat on the new big kawi 2000 that wieghs within 25#s of the R3. i kid you not - i could not keep the bike up flatfooted!! this was obviously a familiar site to them cause as soon as i moved toward that bike they had a guy get to either side of me. i now also believe all the guys that testified regards R3s agility.
any way you look at it ..... one hell of a machine.
i asked him what was his best seller & he surprised me by saying the speedy was his slowest mover but the t100 bonny went like hotcakes. different folks - different strokes.

One thing that would "not" surprise me. If Triumph came out with a "Dresser" based on the Rocket drive train. May as well if you have the rocket computerized to shut down around 130 mph.
