Anyone any advice on leather jackets? Was looking for a classic biker jacket (like the Classics on Fox Creek Leathers - but they don't have my size and won't for another month) but so many makes... I'm UK obviously, but wouldn't mind buying from US if it was good.

Richard, I have only owned 1 leather jacket but it is all I could ask for. It's Triumph's triple T connection. Nice leather, zip in poly. liner, removable armour. High price as advertized($400US) but got good deal from Tri. dlr. going out of bus.It does protect, has zipped vents and subtle Triumph logo just below the left chest pocket.Have read many other jacket reviews here so you're at the right site to research it.Be carefull.Bob.

Well, personally I'd say "Fox Creek," but if you need something faster, check out Vanson -- we picked up discontinued model for my wife and it's really sweet!

I love my Triumph Highway jacket. Super thick, good padding, etc. Old school.

I have the Triumph Classic Leather jacket, and though it has no removable liner, the Triumph fleece neck warmer fits right in, and keeps the neck and shoulders toasty. I don't need so much cold weather protection here anyway - dressing in layers makes for a better day.
I like the high turned up collar, and I keep the back, shoulder and elbow protection in, too. Nobody even suspects it is there.
I can't WAIT for some cooler riding weather!

Hey Benny, how about putting all the links for jackets from here and the thread that Matt referenced and putting them in the vendors section, or the tech vault maybe.

I got a helluva deal on a leather coat from ebay. The seller didn't do too much to promote the sale page, and so it didn't sell. I picked it up post auction for $50 including shipping. I would say it's a 250 dollar jacket with no visible wear or stank on it.

I got the PowerTrip vintage leather jacket. Is the Off white torso, with the black arms, with the black stripes over the shoulder. A nice, old fashioned look. I have had some noce compliments each time I have worn it.

I just picked up a new jacked last week from U.S. Made Made Leather Company. If you live near one, definitely go. If not, you can order one online. They have imported pre-made jackets, but their specialty is in-house made jackets, chaps, and other accessories. I was extremely impressed with their private lines. They use a much heavier grade leather, and the quality is superior to anything I've seen in other shops. They also warrantee their work. Anyway, I picked up a jacket that was similar to one I was looking at in another store, only much heavier leather. The other store was selling theirs for $450. I walked out with mine for $195.

It's worth the trip. For the best deals, look for jackets made with a special price leather. That's how I got mine. They had the exact same jacket there for a little more money. However, they got a great deal on some leather and priced the jackets accordingly.
Most of their stuff is priced awesome, even boots, bags, and gloves (I also got some insulated gauntlets for $13) You ask the people working there where the deals are, since they seem to use a set profit point, then price their gear according to what their leather costs are.

My wife got her jacket here nice jacket a little pricey 250 but high quality. http://nakedleather.com/And this guy is down the road from my house. Great stuff, good prices and a cool guy http://artscowparts.com/He has some heavier chaps on clearence for 100 cash, that are noticably thicker than normal. Says no one buys them anymore. I think they work great for the fall around here. Also got to give it to him for a cool store name.

i have to give Art's Cow Partsa vote . my chaps and jacket came from him. Dill's right; a very cool guy. he gave me my gaurdian motorcycle angel pin at Loudon a few years ago. anyway, i digress...my chaps are very thick leather, super broken in--like a favorite pair of dungarees, and will probably out last me. Same goes for the jacket. US made and reasonably priced as well.

Actually, I'd rather have full on riding pants than chaps. Always thought it was weird not to cover your tush... But I do have draggin jeans.

US made leather had a ton of odd sizes for 50 bucks. I didn't see what their normal prices were.

Good to know. One of those places has a location in CT right off 84 too, so I might be able to stop on my way up.

Newenough.com has a Tour Master Coaster leather jacket on closeout for $129. Link Comes in all-black if you don't care for the stripes on it. Has armor if that's your thing (it's removable) and an full-sleeve insulated liner, but the sleeves on the liner can zip off turn it into a vest. That's a unique feature you don't see in too many liners. I did some searching and it has a number positive reviews on motorcyclegearreview.com. I'm watching a jacket on eBay right now and if I don't get that one, I plan on ordering this one.
