My Speedmaster's been parked for a little over a month. This morning, I'm walking through the garage to get in the car. I glance over at the bike, like I do every morning, and catch a glimpse of a brown river on the floor. It starts under the front of the engine and runs along until it disappears under some junk being stored in the garage. My heart skips a beat, and I'm under the bike on my hands and knees trying to locate the leak. There's no sign of oil anywhere on the bike. While I'm scratching my head, it suddenly dawns on me that the oil is running uphill to get from the bike to the front of the garage. That's when I came to the realization that the oil was coming from somewhere in the pile of junk and running down toward the bike. After digging through the mess, I finally see the culprit. A gallon jug of used oil from an oil change about six months ago has tipped over and has emptied about half of its contents onto the floor. Of course, oil is all over everything, including a friend's sofa that just found a temporary home in the garage. Looks like I'm buying some kitty litter this morning, and have a job to do when I run home for lunch. I just kept putting off taking that old oil in for disposal until I forgot it was still there. Banging his head on the brick wall, he mutters, "Stupid, stupid, stupid..." On the bright side, the bike's just fine. Will

I guess that's a clue that I better get cracking on that two gallons of used motor oil I have sitting on the ground in my shed!! Glad the bike is OK!

Glad the T is okay, but you have to celebrate your good fortune by RIDING her. A month with no riding is like, like, like, a month with no riding!!!!!
It's all good, but it's all make believe

Similar thing happened to me. I see this huge puddle near the rear tire, but then I noticed the gian laundry detergent jug that holds my old oil had tipped and it was leaking out the breather thingie. So I went to lowes and got their version of speedy dry. Good stuff! Not much of it took care of everything. Ruined some of my scrap wood tho...

I wish I had tried that stuff. I went the cheap route and tossed ten pounds of kitty litter on it at lunch time. Now I have that mess to clean up tonight. Luckily, one of the sofa pillows had fallen on the floor and soaked up a lot of oil. Hopefully my friend won't miss that one. bobw, I plan to be riding again by the end of September. You have some great roads in the western part of the state. Will

I don't understand the term "scrap wood".

Will, it wasn't that expensive actually. I got the plastic jug as opposed to the big bag and I still have some leftover. It's almost like powder. Quote:

Well maybe if I had a fireplace or stove! I actually get a lot of miles out of little chunks of wood. Find all kinds of uses for them.

Whata ya expect? Not riding for a month. If you don't let them out more than that, they will pee on the floor. Dave

Not so much a matter of getting away with it as just plain not having room for it! Apartment complex and all... I do miss the good ol days in VT where we had random fire pit nights! We used to melt our old GI Joes
