Hey guys, I have 130 main jets that the dealer installed with with TOR longs. I also have a uni-filter and A/I removed. Since then I sold the TOR's and purchased Bubs. I didn't make any other adjustments. Unfortunately, I have some backfiring now on decel...not real bad, but enough that i'd like to get rid of it. I have popping too but I'm more concerned with the backfires. Oh, I'm at or only slightly above sea level. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem with my Specialty Spares after installing and changing to the 130s. I took it back to the installing dealer who then changed the pilots to 45s and the backfiring and loud popping disappeared. I have some decel rumble now and feel that trying to eliminate all decel popping encourages people to turn the screws out to where they are actually running too rich. With a more open exhaust, some low decel popping should occur and is normal.

I also had 130 main jets for the Bubs but had no problems. Running Dynojet needle, center groove, 40 pilot jet 3 turns out. (I heard the old 40 is equivalent to the new 42.Unifilter, snorkel out, baffle in

That is true, they changed the numbers in mid 03 I believe. Mike at BelaCorse can verify the exact models affected, he's the one that alerted me to this. Brent probably knows as well.

Thanks for the input guys. She's due for a major service, I guess I could have them fix the backfire then. But I've been waiting because she's running good. I've been taking care of the oil, air filter and chain. So I'm thinking if it ain't broke don't fix it, right? I met a guy a few weeks ago who has the exact same model. He has 25K miles and has never had the valves adjusted! He said it was running fine, so I'm in no hurry with only 13.5K on mine. Of course the backfiring may send me to the shop sooner. Comments? Thanks again
