The Lake of the Pines British Bike Rally is coming up soon. The dates are October 6,7, and 8th. I just want to throw this out and see if anybody is interested in getting together. I've asked around and I know there is some interest already. The rally is in Jefferson, Texas and their are some nice roads down in that area. This is a great chance for of ALL the Texas, Luoisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkasas boys to get together! We had quite a few people show up last year, but we can do better this year!

Looking forward to it! I thought I was going to have to work that weekend, but fortunately Oct is one of the few months this year that my UTA isn't on the first weekend of the month. Let me know where and what time you want to meet up in Rockwall before take off. A couple of they guys from here may want to tag along as well, one on a Road King, the other on a Nomad.

We Triumphs, a Harley, and a Kawasaki. We'll look like delegates from the United Nations! The more the merrier. I know there are more that may be interested, but just aren't speaking up. It's hard to get the Texas boys too fired up about anything!

I just looked at the map. Rockwall??
That looks like only a 10 minute ride then for some of you.
I'm aiming for it. Hope the schedule allows it.
I'll probably drag a couple others with me if so.

I'll be driving down form Rockwall, but it's a bit longer than ten minutes to Jefferson. It's probably 2-3 hours from Dallas. Jefferson is a nice east Texas town with plenty of B&Bs and antique shopping to keep you busy.... I'll skip all that and spend my time out at the lake at the Lake of the Pines British Bike Rally! The roads around the lake and in that area are nice with curves and lots of trees. We had a great time last year, and if the guys are interested it sounds like Brent might actually let us come by the shop again to see how his dad makes all the cool bits for our bikes. This year we need to orchestrate a distraction of some sort so we can make off with some more swag from the shop when nobody is looking!!! It should be a fun weekend regardless of how many of us show up. If you look at my gallery I still have a few pics up from last year. I post some pics of the LOP rally so everyone can check them out.

I'll be there nuthin, and that's all the distraction you'll need for the big heist. Brent always follows me around for some reason...

TMAX! I was going to track you down at the fire station if I didn't hear from you soon. I still haven't decided when I was heading down. It's looking like Saturday morning, but I thought it might be fun to camp out on Friday night. It really depends on if anybody else heads down Friday night. Getting up early and heading down together on Saturday would be fun. Levi (Wyrm) is going down as well, but I'm not sure when he is going. Skip showed some interest earlier, but I need to give him a call and see if he's still interested.

It's looking like a Saturday run is going to work for several of us. Skip (BKG) is in Wylie. I'm in Rowlett and TMAX is out East of Dallas.

Where do we want to meet up?

How about the IHOP in Greenville? TMAX won't have to back track very far that way! Name the time and/or someplace different.

I bought some inserts for the sceptres. They've been toned down alot. I imagine your short cannons are louder than mine now!

Brent - Are we going to see your Mom and Dad again?

We hadn't planned on anything because Mom was tentatively scheduled to have cataract surgery that Friday. Fortunately, things are better so that won't be the case. We're on for happy good times. And Mom says she'll be watching y'all with her good eye so don't try anything funny!

Brent,
What was the burger place we went to last year? Aunt Skinners or something like that? We need to plan on getting everybody together for some good old East Texas cooking.

Yeah, it was Anutie Skinner's. There are a couple other places but Skinner's is always good.

I'm going down on Friday with the "Crew". Chris's dad is going so we will be hauling the trailer down again this year. I am going to probably just ride behind the truck so I can get in a little saddle time, but still have the convenience of all my stuff in the truck. Sweet! I'm up for whatever you all are up for, Auntie Skinner's, Brent's Mom and Dad's, whatever.

Chris's dad is the guy that work for Triumph back in the day right? He told some pretty good tales at lunch last year if I rember correctly. I guess we'll look for your camp when we arrive Saturday. I'd hate to have my speedy overshadow your bike, but you ride an America, so I'm sure you are used to it.

OK...this is a little vague ! Do we want to roll out of Greenville at 0700, 0800, or earlier/later? I plan on doing breakfast there before we leave, so am trying to pin down what time I need to leave, or more correctly, what time I need to get the wife up so she can be ready in time. Yeah, the wife is going along, it will be her first trip on back of the speedy that is longer than 45 miles!

Yeah, that was a bit vague! I figure if we left by 8:00 we would get there by 10:30 or 11:00. The bike show starts at 11:00, so I figure that would be a good time to get there. Would you like to meet at IHOP at 7:00 for breakfast, and then we can head out at 8:00? We could leave earlier or later if you want, I'm just throwing out an idea. I'll look into the route for us.

Yep, that was Chris' dad all right. Triumph rep for years back before most of us were born. Oh, and about being overshadowed...I wouldn't know cuz when my America is around, no one ever seems to notice those Speedmasters
