Although I find football and soccer less exciting than watching paint dry, mergers and acquisitions are much more interesting. So, the news that Randy Lerner, owner of my local football team, the Cleveland Browns, seems all set to become the owner of the UK's Aston Villa soccer team peaked my interest.
Has anyone any thoughts about whether this is a good thing or not. From a sports perspective, the stunning (NOT) performance of the Browns may cause some worries. But then again, maybe they can get rid of those godd**n awful orange and brown colors and try out the claret and blue of Villa.
[So what happened with the Browns colors anyway? Were they last in the line for choosing? "Sorry guys, all we have left are brown and orange - sort of a cross between feces and vomit."]

Claret & Blue - faded red and faded blue more like ! The Villa fans here in Brum think they are getting £50 million to spend on new players. Ask Arsenalfan how the Villa got on today !!
If you do it today you MIGHT regret it. If you CAN'T do it tomorrow you WILL regret it.

Brummie I used to live close to the Villa in Erdington (spent too much time in the Stockland Green pub) and I got the impression that most of the Villa folks would be a bit wary of having their team owned by a "foreigner" - even one with money Siggy

Went to Marsh Hill Tech so I know Stockland Green well. Most Villa fans seem to think he's gonna pump million into the club and they are going to win the Prem this year.
At least they got Martin O'Neil as manager and I wish them well...
.....AS IF !

Early 1960s guy names Art Model buys the Browns Fires probably one of the greatest coaches in NFL history and wins the title with Paul Browns talent Last title the city of Cleveland has had. 1968 Jim Brown the greatest running back in history is making a movie, called the Dirty Dozen the movie is running over and Brown is going to be late for training camp Model threatens Brown with a fine Brown retires We miss the Super Bowl I cant tell you how many times by one play over and over again. Heck they even name the plays so every football fan Knows about them. Model never has enough money to run the team right, Yet they sell out game after game. Finally instead of selling the team he moves them to a town that once complained about someone stealing there team. Year later he wins the freaking Super Bowl.BALTIMORE gets our title and he still goes broke and has to sell the team. The NFL does the right thing and gives us back our team and we get for the first time ever a billionaire owner he dies of a brain tumor. Since the Browns return losS after loss bad coach choices Bad draft picks bad front office. This year we lose are best center on the first play of the first practice, his backup calls off sick from accross the country and retires, his backup cant play cause his hands are to sweaty to snap the ball, his backup got caught with a controled substance. and thats all in the last two weeks There is a jinx around the Cleveland teams and those who touch them!!!!!

I thought you would have chosen watching paint dry.
