I know I always spoke well of these pipes, now that I have gone into the pipes myself I ran into a bit of concern and felt compelled to share this warning. I don't know if it is a problem or not. If you think or think not, Chime in.
I bought my Mod Stock Exhaust from that guy on E-bay, it turns out when he drilled 3 holes through the remaining 2 baffles that he did not drill them evenly and also he only put 2 holes in the 4th baffel of 1 pipe.?. Rather than trying to dig up a long 3/4 drill bit and putting the 3rd hole in myself, I just knocked the 4th baffle out of both pipes. (I wanted the volume anyways). I always though one pipe was a bit louder than the other. Well I was right. 5,500 miles before I figured this out though. I sure hope that the backpressure difference between the 2 pipes isn't the reason for this blasted backfire I have been contending with. If you do get pipes from him just ask him to double check that he did in fact drill through both baffles. He didn't on one of my pipes.

Amen. I hope this didn't cause some sorta problem. I'm very glad that I at least caught it now rather than at 20,000.

When you say 4th baffle, you're talking about header end, right? Doubt if it hurt anything. May have affected carb balance some. There's a crossover pipe that would take up most of the difference, I would think. Did he remove or drill out the narrowed section in the front end of pipe?

It - New plugs yes. Look good. Still a little backfire. Not as bad but still there.
Lonzo - Yes sir, the front of the pipe. No, the reducer is still in there, just no baffles. What he normally does is remove the rear 2 baffels and then drills 2, 3/4" holes in the last 2 baffels. I had him drill a 3rd hole but he didn't go through the last baffle of one pipe. As soon as I can afford a carb tuner Brent will get my order.

You can make one out of about 25' of clear plastic tubing with about 2' of automatic transmission fluid in it and a yardstick. Works great. Find the middle of the tubing, put that on bottom end of vertical yardstick, tape tubing to yardstick, fill about a third of the way up with ATF, let it settle, hook ends to carb ports. If too much out of balance, be ready to hit kill switch before ATF gets sucked in.

Thats my fear right there. I figure I'd be better off to wait a week or so than to take a chance feeding my carbs too much protein.

First time I balanced my carbs, I made one of these. Sucked almost all the fluid into the left carb before I had a chance to say "Oh sh!T!!" and kit the kill switch.
Bought a Morgan soon after....
I imagine if you restrict the tubing somehow, you'd have a better chance of not doing this.

I just ordered Brents. Hopefully he has it in stock. Haven't heard yet. Looks like it will work?

Why not use Stabil or some other type of fuel stabilizer? Can't imagine it would hurt.

To me, because Brents carbtuner should be here today. You do have a good thought though.

I made one of the manometers and used transmission fluid. It works great for me. If you hook up both ends first, before starting your engine, you shouldn't have a problem.
