Is there fishtails that I can just slip over top of my Tor pipes or are they a seperate exhaust altogether. I really like the look of them. Would there be a sound change, not that I need one.

I have a pair of these, but didn't mount them. They turned out to be straight pipes with no baffles or packing. I might try to mount them with shorty mufflers.

They are separate pipes all together. So, you replace your existing pipes with them. there are two styles that you can get, the straight pipe style or the muffler style.
Yes, the ones from JC Whitney will work. But they are only 29" in length. So actually it depends on how long you want them to be.
The ones on my bike (the muffler style) are 36" long (I need to get a better pic sometime). They come to the rear axle. Loud? Heck yes they are loud.
The ones I have are made by V-Twin Manufacturing (they have other styles and sizes too). you can get a free catalog at http://www.Zoom4Parts.com. But I would recomend acyually ordering from http://www.Ironcitycycles.com since they sell parts for less than list price.

I remember seeing a fishtail extension someplace, but forget where. I would think that JC Whitney or Custom Chrome would be most likely. Both have complete fishtail mufflers.

I guess I am looking for some kind of fishtail tip. My pipes are 3" dia. on the end of my Tor's, correct, so this would not fit either. http://www.customchrome.com/catalogs/CCP2006/0575.html BikerT

Yes, fishtails usually change the sound. You will probably like it.

So I guess there aren't any tips that fit out 3" dia. pipes. Probably have to go to a custom shop and have them made up.
