Time to get a little ridicule from both the Triumph and HD camps... A couple of weeks ago I received the Harley Davidson accessory catalog (only accessories for the bikes, no apparel and other crap) in the mail. It was addressed to the previous owner of our house, who hasn't lived here in five years. I don't recall one of these ever showing up before, although I think I have gotten Harley junk mail in the past addressed to him. As I'm looking through 900 pages of accessories for HD motorcycles, I see something that catches my eye. No HD logo on it and it looks like should work on my bike and any others for that matter. Plus its way cooler than the stock parts on my bike. I look it up, price isn't too bad, but probably $10 more than it would be if it wasn't a HD accessory. Yesterday, I happened to drive past a HD dealership with my kids, and I thought, "what the hell". So we turn around and go to the dealership. I have to wade past the "Bikers" who are just hanging out not actually doing anything other than giving me and my kids dirty looks (I was in my non-biker cloths of a plain t-shirt, shorts and sandals). Make my way through the small part of the dealership that actually has bikes, through the larger area of merchandise, an finally get directed upstairs to the "parts" department - which is an entire floor which I'm pretty sure had every single chrome accessory that was in that 900 page catalog. Don't find what I'm looking for and ask the parts counter. They have it behind the counter and I purchase it! Then go home and install it on the bike when my wife gets home from work (she rode it). So, what did I purchase and install on my Speedmaster? It was a Harley Skull license plate mounting hardware kit: I have to give them credit that this appears to be a high-quality item. At $28 (after tax), they are probably $10 more than they should be, but they are nice. Yes, I'll probably get some crap from people on it, but they sure look a lot better than the mounting bolts I had on the bike. Fire away. lol.

The wrench is even chromed and feels like a quality piece as well. Fits the bolts perfectly.

Nice little novelty item. No, not the skull caps, I'm talking about the wrench. Just imagine the fun you could have with the nonriding cager crowd by carrying that around on your keychain: ignant cager; "What's that thing"? you; "It's a skull wrench" ignant cager; "What's a skull wrench?" you: You DON'T want to know"

It actually would make a nice key chain. lol

And I love that they come without a H/D logo. It must be a mistake.

Truth be told, many of us have Harley parts on our bikes. By far the most common parts is the little Sportster clutch boot to cover the exposed cable on the clutch cover. Probably the only HD part that sells for less than $3 too. I think they are also the ones supplied by Brent at New Speedmaster.com with his clutch dress-up kits. Don't worry, you can play with us still.

I have a HD rack where pillion pad is supposed to be, but it didn't come with a neat little wrench like that. I won a $25 HD gift certificate and bought a wallet with it. Pried off the HD logo leaving two imperceptable little holes.

I knew I could find a wrench for those pesky skull nuts, now I don't have to use a BFH and a pipe wrench!

Well I just bought a pair of HD riding glasses.Reflective orange lense HD Logo and flames on the temples, came with neck strap and handy pouch.CLEARENCE ITEM!! $20.00!!! marked down from way too much
found them hidden under the much more expensive pairs. Fit nice look good and keep the sun wind and dirt out of my eyes. Even impsct resistant. Sales chick gave me a little grief about being a cheap skate so i told that I'm such a cheapskate i bought A TRIUMPH instead too.

I too have sinned, The visors for my lightbar came from Hardley K-Mart. Now I have to go back to that place to get a replacement. Maybe I'll get a Hardley cat bowl while I'm there. MaodelMaker

I'm sure you just "happened" to have to drive by that Harley dealership too, like it would have been on your way anyway, even if you had not seen these skull bolts in the catalog???? Yeah, RIGHT!

Yeah, RIGHT!
That's my story and I'm sticking too it.
Actually, I drove up to the house of the previous owner of my bike to pick up the original, black sprocket cover for my bike. I forgot to take it when I bought the bike 2 months ago and finally had the time to drive the 45 miles to his house. Took a different way home, and there was the Harley dealer.

On the bike when I bought it, so I don't really know. My guess would be from the Triumph dealership, but I don't know if it's a Triumph part or not. I believe when the PO bought the bike, Triumph was doing the $500 accessory thing.

Cool looking. You can't tell they are Harley parts, just skulls right? I think the little British screws I purchased someplace cost $7.50 for two and they rusted.

I have one british and one american flag plate screw and they rusted too! Some day I may take em off, wire brush em, tape off the flag, and just paint em so they stop rusting.

When I was over in Anamosa, Iowa , I stopped in at J&P Cycles. I bought a chrome plate cover like that, plus the rockets to screw in, it is nice look and cost me about $16.00. Not too bad. If I had a digital camera I would show you, but for now, I dont.
