Don't know, seemed slightly un-realistic to me, total strangers were a little too nice to him, you try some of those things today, and you will either end up shot, cut, robbed, laughed at or locked up! Meant well though....I'll give it about a 7.

Also on the DVD is the documentary "Offerings to the God of Speed". You see where some of the movie dialog came from. One of the best biker movies ever.

Mark, one of the great things about the movie is it's portrayal of a significantly different time in our history. I'm so conditioned to people trying to get over on one another I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop during Munro's misadventures, waiting for The Big Badâ„¢ to happen. It took me a while to relax and just enjoy the movie and accept the fact that everybody wasn't just out for themselves back then.

Probably the thing that makes the movie so enthralling is that it is a true story based on events that DID happen. I bought the movie and have watched it 3 times (once listening to the director). The documentary and interviews with the real Burt Munro on the DVD made the unbelievable more believable. The guy was the real thing and all the people around him knew it.

Just watched it twicw (including the extra Offerings to the Gods of Speed). AWESOME movie... that had the added benefit of actually being true! Munro was truly the real deal.

I saw the movie a few weeks ago, had to return it before I could watch the bonus features on the dvd. I know hollywood has to add a little for entertainment value, but Munro seemed great at what he did, the tree limbs to get his trailer going was a neat improvisation.

The tree limb trailer repair seemed especially fitting in that an Indian helped him do it.
