So I go to the Scott Oiler web site • Fitting Instructions • and select Triumph/America and get the appropriate installation instructions and what do I find under one of the pictures? The following:
"Note: Not suitable for the America"

Say WHAT?

Anyone got a good photo and instructions showing sucessful mounting/installation of the Scott Oiler on an America?

Regards,

I have the scotoiler on my speedy, it's been on for 2 years. I had the dealer install it, it looks pretty much as in the installation pictures. I'll try to take some pictures this weekend and post. Works great! You will need to play with it a little to keep it from slinging the rear wheel with oil.

Women and cats will do as they please. Men and dogs should just get used to that fact and relax

Stan,
Many members have them on their BA/SMs. I think the best place I have seen them mounted is behind the right hand platsic side cover hooked onto the frame. It is out of sight, neat and they work great. I had one but sold it when i went to the belt drive. I never even put mine on though.
But, I see absolutely no problem since there are so many in use.

DB Guy,
Thanks to Pat I have the oilier. Here is a pic of what I did with it. I had a bit of a time hooking the vacuum line, but the rest of mounting is pretty much up to you. I slightly heated the vacuum line to make it a little soft and then put it on the nipple (not the carb one so I could still easily balance the carbs still) The one I got was the universal type, not for any particular bike.

Mine's mounted to the frame of the bike behind the right hand rear footpeg hanger. You can just see the top of it sticking out which makes it conveniant to adjust the flow. I ran the oil line along the top of the rear swingarm, but if I had it to do again I'd run it along the bottom of the swingarm to be less visible.
