Just wondering if any of you guys that have drilled the holes in the bottom of the air box have had any trouble in wet weather? sounds like an easy low cost mod but i was checking the underside on mine and it seems like a fair bit of grime collects under there from the rear wheel in the rain.

A: NO
Under the air box is the top of the swing arm , between the rear fender & the swing arm & not much gets up between that & the air box. The air/debris will still ultimately have to pass through the air filter.

NOTE: If U R concerned U can always use a screen (plastic, metal or foam cut to size) between the bottom of the filter & the air box or drill smaller holes.

I’ve done this MOD two years ago & had NO ADVERSE EFFECTS or I wouldn’t have posted it. As mentioned in a previous POST, this has been DYNO tested w/+ results.
I kept in direct contact with the creator (a real thinker from the UK) of this idea & waited patiently before doing it myself.

U will notice: NO more backfire, a richer, deeper sound (from air box) & if U R in tune w/your bike, YOU WILL NOTICE THE DIFFRENCE, she will pull harder.
MORE OXYGEN, MORE BANG!

*It’s difficult to believe that some MOD’S cost NOTHING but HELL we all get lucky sometime.

consider cutting the black plastic out between the two holes inside the air box. this should allow all that xtra air to get to the carbs better. just one cut from the bottom of one hole to the other. the top isnt attached to the lid of the air box. trumptrash
