I'm looking for some input on boots. Currently I have a pair of Chippewa Fire/EMT's. Sturdy enough, but get kind of uncomfortable after walking around on pavement for awhile. Probably a combination of the boots, my crappy knees and my generously proportioned physique. Anyone know of any that are way-comfortable??

I have a pair of Harley Branded boots that I got on sale and though they are fine for riding.....they are not that comfortable for any extended walking it seems.
Too clunky and heavy.
Maybe Redwings?

I wear Timberland boots. I get them at the outlet mall for half waht the regular stores sell them for. They are very comfortable and silicon based spray waterproofing works great.

I like my pair of Cruiserworks, but most of the time I wear a pair of side zip "tactical boots". I think they're the Magnum brand. Really light and comfortable, but no way they'd ever be waterproof. But then it hardly ever rains around here. Long trips though I throw on the Cruiserworks.

In keeping with the British theme, I'm usually wearing a pair of Doc Marten boots.... although I bought them long before I even thought about buying the bike. I also have a pair of Sketchers work/hiking boots that are very heavy duty, again, those were purchased long ago but work very well with the bike.

I really like my 5.11 tactical boots with the zipper on the medial aspect. Great for riding, but, I always take more comfortable shoes for hikes.......

RED WING BOOTS Waterproof, lightweight, 9-inch lace-up engineer boot
or
10-inch slip-on
I have the 980s, and wear them anytime I'm out for just a ride, but they are comfortable off the bike, too. They have stretch panels in the calves to allow for different sized calves and flexibility. Sometimes I lace them up too tight, but they are actually less comfortable when laced too loosely. Either way, I have worn them for 15 hours or more at a stretch, and again the next day. Had these for 2 years now, and 23k miles of riding. Not going to wear them out anytime soon, but if I did, Red Wing would re-sole them again for about $70. I think I gave $160 for them.
I just paid the same for the Triumph Highway Boots, but I have only seen them in the catalog or online. Should get them by the end of the month, I hope. The Triumph boots are similar to the Red Wing 10-inch slip-ons, but look like they will take a polish better than the oil-tanned Red Wing boots will. The Red Wings are definitely the more "industrious", and I'm hoping the Triumph boots will be a little "dressier". I ride to work every day, in rush hour freeway traffic, in dress shoes. That's cool, but I would feel better with boots on the scoot.

Wolverine Durashocks. VERY comfortable, oil resistant sole. You can wear them all day, they feel like sneakers. You can generally get them at Sears for around $70.
Women and cats will do as they please. Men and dogs should just get used to that fact and relax

Justin Ropers in Black Leather. They don't have the oil resistant sole (they're leather) but just scuff them up real good and they do just fine. Keep them rubbed down with mink oil and they break in like melted butter (plus the mink oil pretty much makes them waterproof). Best part is they feel like feathers on your feet compared to Redwings.

I found a good deal on steel toed Carolina loggers at a chain stored called "Eblens"
http://www.carolinashoe.com/collections.asp?CategoryID=62&gender=mens
for work around the yard and Summer riding. I'm trying to build two stone walls at the house - one of field stone, and the other of cut limestone blocks. (It sured looked easy on TV. ) The Carolinas aren't waterproof, but my experience with waterproof often equals a hot boot for Summer.
J C Penney had some Black Wellingtons (Timberlands maybe?) ala Andy Griffith style on sale a year or three ago. I use those for riding and general purpose Winter boots.
When the thermomenter drops, I'll ride with my standard issue old Sorels with the felt inner boots. Maybe I'll upgrade to the foil backed felts if I'm feeling the spendthrift this Winter.
I paid less than $60 per pair for all the above, just as the luck of the draw had them all on sale when i was shopping for them.

My Triumph Highway Boots came in, and they were way too big. Kind of "cheesey", too - I am not impressed.
I have to decide to reorder them in another size, or take store credit for another item.

I bought Frye Harness boots last Spring. The older kids, who all knew the way to the principal's office, all had harness boots when I was in junior high. I like 'em

i'm yer basic boot junkie. aka an imelda. not gonna tell ya exactly how many pairs of Frye's are co-mingling in my closet right now, but they're a friendly lot and always welcome new soles to the scene.
scuffed around in my harness boots(color tan) all weekend. hated to step into those loggers today.

Whats the toe like in cruiserboots? It's not hard like a steel toe hard is it? Are they lightweight like they say?

Beware Harley "AR" boots. They come above the ankles, lace up, water proof but are heat tolerable in 100 degree plus . They walk very good, work well under the shift lever and look nice but the sole can be very slick on some surfaces.
I've giving up on Harley footwear. Had sandles that became hard as a rock.

You talking about the Cruiserworks boots? Here's what the website says about the toe cap:
"STYRENE TOE GUARD Designed to Canadian military specs, it's lightweight yet tough enough to stand up to repeated shifting. And it won't conduct cold."
I have the Defenders and they are a fairly light when it comes to weight. I don't have a problem wearing these all day.

SIDI boots work very good for me. I got the Panters because they were the cheapest waterproof riding boot I found (and it seems most of my long rides are in the rain). Also got them a size larger so electric socks would fit. They work well in the heat, rain, and cold. The left toe does show some shift wear after a couple of years, but a little Kiwi every now and again takes care of that. Here is an older comparison by Motorcyclecruiser.com

Plastic toe, gives a little but maintains its shape. I have the Tour pull-on boots. Very lightweight (I have size 15EE) and comfortable.

Just a note. they say on their ordering info that you should order them in the largest size you have ever worn. It's a fact. I usually wear a 14EEE, but have had to buy 15s in some brands, so I oredered the 15s and the fit is perfect.

I've very partial to by Alt-berg Hogg Lites. Easily the best boots I've ever owned. I have 50k riding miles on them and tons of walking and hiking also. If these ever wear out I'll definitely get another pair. http://www.altberg.co.uk/Web/motorcycle1.jsplater, Hugh

Opinions of course vary, but for my money I think the Aerostitch Combat Lights are pretty much the best think out there for riding/wearing boots.
