At JimR's request a run a bit further south....

I'm looking at meeting somewhere in the Swindon area - I'm going for a little run out later so I'll post definately where later.

Then through Avebury, on to Glastonbury, through the Cheddar Gorge and then to somewhere near a motorway so you can all get home. There are some nice twisty turnies and some straight bits.

Right who's gonna come out to play?

Off to find a place to meet...

Hippy heaven mate.
Glastonbury (and the Tor) are frequented by hippy sorts.
Lots of hippy shops selling hippy stuff.

Getting the idea?

You'll get there one day ...

OK so now I've been for a little ride... ok so 95 miles

At Junction 16 M4, take the turning for Swindon West (the first turning if coming off the Eastbound or after the Eastbound exit if coming from the East...) - it's called Great Western Way. First turning left - into Lydiard Park.
Don't try and turn into the Hilton Car Park, go up to the roundabout and double back and in to the Travel Inn car park...

Anyone wanna stick a time on.... I was thinking around 10.30.... depends what time Ade wants to leave home...

Well as I'm leaving at 05:15 tomorrow for WORK, I'll leave anytime for a meet!

If you want to meet in the middle of the afternoon at 10:30, fine ...

Great directions BTW.
Clear as mud!!

Will it all become obvious once I'm there?

EDIT:
Would you Adam and believe it?
Sunday looks like rain

Bring your wellies guys!

It's the first turning for Swindon if coming from Bristol....

Jimr, don't know which way you'll come from Oxford, but if you come A420, theres got to be at least ten speed cameras between Kingston Bagpuise and Swindon (went that way sunday) And theres 2 on the A419 the streach that takes you to J15 M4. then go west to J16, unless you know Swindon, it's by far the easiest route. but then again you could come down the A34. Whatever.

Thats exactly the route i'll be taking. Though I havent been that way for sometime, I am aware that its a bit of a camera alley. Theyre not all bad,...especially the forward facing ones !!

I am riding home to Telford from Bournemouth Sunday afteroon So if you have a plan to stop for coffee some where I will fit in with you, let me know estimated time and place and i'll take in the rest of the ride. Gina, assuming my bike gets here tommorrow and is OK, I might be able to meet up with the Hippy Trippers on Sunday somewhere as BJ has suggested. I don't want to do the whole trip on a bike with next to 0 miles on it, as well as not being used to riding cruiser style, so if you can fit BJ in I'll probably meet you there as well.

For others at a loss on Sunday.....

There is a local run here in Brum on Sunday to raise funds for care for sufferers of a rare form of bone cancer, in memory of a biker who died of it in 2001 aged 24. It starts from Hopwwod services at 10:30 going down to Bourton - on - the Water. Entrance fee per Bike £3.

Again, I won't be doing that - don't fancy doing a newbie wobble or paddle amongst a few hundred old hands !

Keep me posted.
Thanks

If you do it today you MIGHT regret it. If you CAN'T do it tomorrow you WILL regret it.

Hey Brummie
How many miles do you have under your belt on it?

I found it took a very short amount of time to get in the swing of it.

You ride to how you feel confident but the easiest way is to get out and about.

We're not always 'hang on for grim death' type of riders (depends on how the mood takes us!) so let us know where you want a meet - we'll be gentle with you.

Approximately 0 !! It don't arrive until tomorrow pm !

Have to take my lad and his doxy to the airport on saturday, so screws up most of the day. I might do the Midland links motoway circuit for a bit of familiarisation, but sunday will be the first full available day. Coming from a TDM I might find it a bit strange.

We'll see how it goes.

You can certainly bet on that if you ride with Adey, it will be run in within the first weekend of receiving it, next weekend it will be ready for its 5000 mile service

Sorry peeps...didn't get time to lok at the map!!!

If everyone else has no objections - lunch in Glastonbury...? That's probably gonna be around 1.30ish.... though it will be breakfast for me....

I think it took me around 80 minutes to get to Trowbridge on Tuesday, and that was less than half way to Glasto...and what with the nattering....we won't be leaving Swindon at 10.30....

So probably nearer 2!!!!
