ok....America, 4 baffles removed from each stock pipe, drilled airbox , pulled snorkle, AI out. Put a 135 main jet in...left everything else in the carb stock.Using 91 octane gas, ran it about 5 miles with new spark plugs...pulled the plugs...look almost new...porcelin still white. Why?

The additives in the 91 octane gas are probably the reason. I use the mid grade, 89 and it likes it just fine. How does it run?
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

runs better... pulls ok , tops out at 95 with a 17 tooth sprocket. not as much poppin on decel...only some just as Im coming to a stop so..think i should try 1 shim or a 45 pilot? or both? O and should i drive the rest of the 91 out or drain it in a gas can and fill up

If it runs ok and very little popping, why do you want to change anything?
Just run the gas out.

I backed the Air Mixture just a hair to remove the poping totaly. I chose to keep the very minimul poping though and after 3500 miles the plugs look fine still and no problems...
How many turns out are you now?
I also was told not to run above 89 octane to help keep the chrome, so I haven't. I'm at 4,800 miles now and the only blue I've got is on the clamp and behind the sheilds.

I think im running alittle too lean in the midrange...I checked the plugs and they looked brand new...still white in the center...I'll ride it longer to check it out again...I wanna get that tan color right?

Plug reading can be very tricky. What most guys do is install a fresh set of plugs, then run the vehicle hard for a mile or more. Then, they shut it off, pull in the clutch, and coast to a stop and pull the plugs and read them on the spot.
Once you get the main system dialed in, then you go for the rest of the tune up.
Oh, to save some cost on intalling fresh plugs every time you do a run, try cleaning them with spray carb cleaner. Be really careful here, as that stuff will squirt back out of the center electrode hole and nail you in the face/eye/other soft tissue. OUCH!
And remember to do one change at a time and keep a written record of all the changes you do. It also helps to do your testing at the same temperature, not in the cool morning one time, and the heat of the middle afternoon the next.
Keep at it. You'll get it eventually!

I put in my 135's and I ran it regular to warm it up for a a mile then I ran it hard for 3-4 miles , pulled the clutch and shut her down at ...plugs looked new...which isnt good I think...centers were white and the top metal prong ( not sure of name) had a beige/tint of green color to it...?

Yes, 132's and they are fine. I'm at 2 7/8 turns out.

Ryan - just an update I am at 132's still with the TBS needles and 3 3/4 turns out. Then I balanced the carbs (they were off about a 1/16 turn AKA a Pubiturn). Everything is doing what it should be. Great throttle response at any position.
