Hi All,

My stupid 4 wheeler is in the shop, and tonight, my TBA has stranded me at work! ARRGGHH! I work 50 miles from home.

The bike starts right up, but even with the kickstand up, as soon as I put it in gear, it dies. Any way I can unplug the kickstand switch, start the bike and go home????

Any help is greatly appreciated.

From a thread out of the archives:

I wasn’t having the problem, but I wanted to clean up the wires going down to the switch. So I removed the switch and wires, ground off the place it attached, and jumpered the connection up by the horn so the bike thinks the stand is always up. It’s a lot cleaner.

Hope it works for you man, good luck!

Hi,

Figured out the problem. The kickstand switch is gunked up, and the plunger isn't reliably coming back out. Went ahead and unbolted the switch, pulled the plunger out all the way, and zip tied it unitil I get back to the Triumph shop for warranty work.

Now, I can get home and get some sleep.

Thanks Again!
