I want to replace my Willie & Max Fleetside Slant saddlebags with Saddlemen Drifter Slants. With the W&M bags the removal of the yoke was easy for installing the EZ Brackets. I just removed the stitching. It looks like the Saddlemen bags mount to the yoke with a turn button type of fastener. Are these easily removable to allow for the EZ Bracket install? Anyone have this combo?

I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger......and then it hit me.

Hi Nologic I think I may have the Saddleman Drifter slants(take a look at my photo section) the EZbrkts fastened onto where the turn button fastener clips....

But did you have to remove the fasteners from the bags?

You remove the yoke and two of the existing holes will line up with ez brakets. You need to drill the 2 bottom holes.
Rememer - you need to beef up the backing plate with plexi, wood, aluminum plate, etc.... Really an easy mod, but don't skip this step.....
I guess I should add.....If I were to do it over, I would consider someone else's suggestion of building a back plate with a bottom plate to support the bag from the bottom. My Drifters are pretty distorted and they don't hold the original shape. Too many beer runs I guess....

Cool. So I am assuming the turn button part is on the yoke then and the bags just have the hole that the turn button goes into? Nothing to remove from the bags to bolt up the EZ brackets to them?

My Drifter and EZbracket combo worked great until put the bike on the auto train from Florida to Virginia. Sixteen Hours of having the living crap shaken out of them caused stress fractures in the plastic backs. I had to reinforce with sheet aluminum on the inside and out. Like a tank now.

Looks like a lot of people have had this trouble with them. Maybe not the way to go unless they are reinforced. My W&M have held up good so far.
