A friend bought a set of bars that are NOT knurled, & they slip when mounted. Any suggestions on something that will hold them stable??

Plumbers thread tape worked for me on a different bike, it basically just gave more clamping force.
TBA, Stainless extractors / drag pipes, 65mm over forward controls, Thruxton needles, 904cc, head ported, lowered 1-inch, Console removed, relocated battery box, Australia.

My buckhorns were not knurled either. I center mocked them up and used a marker to 'see' the edges. Then scuffed the bars and inside the risers. They have not moved since...

If I remember correctly, I used a course flat and round file and then squirted some silicon in there to seal the metal. Went well inside with the files and cleaned up the silicon after. There's no way you could tell I did anything without removing the bars.

Another good idea, Phil. I was thinking that he could mark the spots on the bars & use a dremel to rough them up.

Dremel would work. Maybe use that for really inside and a file to dress close to where you marked the edges. I used a marking pen which cleaned right off after.
