Was wondering what people's thoughts on thunderbike pipes. Still try to figure out what pipes to put my 06 Speedmaster. These seem to be the best sounding pipes I've heard from listening to the sound clips on the net.

I love my TB pipes.. well worth the $... The sound is the best I've heard, Bubs sound good too but I like the looks of the TB's better...

Love mine too. Before I had both the Raasks and the BUB Dresser Dogs. Both these made my ears ring after a longer ride. No more. Some say the TB's are loud, but not to my ears. A nice low rumble and a little more when twisting the throttle...

They really have a nice mellow note to my ear. Not loud by my estimation just a nice mellow rumbly affair. Wont ****** of the neighbors at all on an zero dark thirty departure unless you sit there and wind it up. My wife says she can hear my coming and thats loud enough.

At speed it is no annoyance at all to the rider.

I was wondering if anybody had any troubles running the stock jetting with these pipes. Just curious since they say there is no need to rejet

I did at first, but only for a short time. maybe a few weeks. then it was off to airbox mod land. but no problems during that time. you may just wanna turn the air screws out to 4 turns as they tell you.

I'm getting a little nervous about Thunderbike. I really want a set of the long slash cuts for my America. I've written them two emails with some questions (over the last month). I've never heard anything back from them...

I've had problems emailing them before too. But don't let that stop you from buying. They're quick and safe. Mine got here real quick considering where they are and me being in the states. Took about a week. I feel the pipes are a bit under what i'd have prefered for the price as far as chrome quality goes. But they're good sounding and sturdy pipes, and i wouldn't hesitate at all buying from them. I think Graeme is a straight up guy and will take care of you too.

I'm happy to report that today i checked my header clamps to find a couple bolts a bit loose, then tightened them and put red silicone at the muffler joints and the pipes are significantly quieter. i rode for a while w/o ear plugs and it was tolerable. not as quiet as i'd like, but it really took the edge off. I've used the silicone before but i've had the mufflers off many times and never bothered after the first few because it didn't seem to make a difference. But then i always wear ear plugs so i probably just didn't notice. Either that of it was the header clamps that were allowing blow-by.

I had the same problem when I ordered mine.......guys are just busy to check emails. They were out of stk. I finally heard from them when they came in about a week later. Good guys fast shipping, no negative issues to report.

Only issue I had was popping which was easy to correct and kind of a hesitation or "Flat spot" to 1/4 throttle which TBS corrected. All easy fixes. Big difference in sound and performance!

Anyone gone from stockers minus baffels to TB pipes? Wondering how the sound compares. Right now I have first (end) and holes drilled in the second. Have had nothing to compare it with locally.

I've had mine for a few thousand miles.

Pics:
- More power - waaay better than stock - about on a par with the Bubs they replaced, according to my seat-of-the-pants dyno.
- Nice sound - not as loud as the Bubs.
- Good chrome, fit, and finish.

Pans:
- Price (why does it always have to be about money?)
- My header pipes are slowly turning yellow
- Sometimes I think the things are too loud - okay, I'm a pain...

So whats -

- they do not sound like the old Triumphs - to get there I think the firing order would have to change - Triumph changed 'em (Americas, Speedys) to sound more like guess-who's... So they lack the bark, but they beat the stockers fer sure.

- Can't hardly read the "made in New Zealand" thingie on the cheesy medallion...

Would I do it again? Prolly

I pealed the cheesy medalion off. Its attached with industrial sticky tape. Pull it off and stick it to your tool box.
