Greetings, All,

I'm a long way from needing to replace my tires but when I do I'd like to keep the same size, but, if I can, change to a tire that gets along with the gridded surface of the local bridges better.

The Tidewater area of S.E. Virginia has dozens of bridges, almost all with grids for the lift part.

While I've ridden since I was a teenager, the one thing that still gives me a slight case of the willies is riding over a grid bridge. I *HATE* that front end wobble!!!

So... anyone else find a certain brand/model of tires that give fewer shakes on grid bridges as compared to the stock tires on the TB America??

And any additional guidance on the ride handling, brakeing, and/or durability of that particular brand/model you experienced?

Thanks!

Stan,
The Metzlers seem to do pretty well on the steel deck bridges around me. They all do a little slip and slide with the wobble, but it's not as hairy as other bikes and tires I have ridden over them with. The dunlops really slip a lot.

A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice. Pat

I ride the Main Street bridge in Daytona Beach at times and found the Pirelli to do just fine. Better than the Bridgestones. Have to try them with a passenger next.

I was so much older then, I am younger than that now (Wrote By Dylan Sung by the BYRDS,)
