OK - I had a thought. Pull up the silly rubber mat on these Triumph floorboards, trace the outline into sheet metal, match where the holes are for underside mounting, and polish the hell out of them. ( make 'em black for the SM kids ) Anyone, comments?

Not a bad idea, but I think it'd be nice to retain some kind of "rubber mounting" somewhere in the set-up for your feet to rest a bit easier on them.

Don't ride in the wet with them... your boots'll slip off every time you put any weight on them. Maybe if you inlaid some rubber strips so they matched the kuryakyn iso grip look?

Yes, agreed. There would need to be some rubber stripping. Perhaps laid out in a UnionJack pattern?
Brent? BoogieMan? Dwight? Anyone with some sheet metal, a saw, a 6 pack and a free afternoon?

Here's another...
I want a neat, easy-to-install, means of relocating the ignition switch up somewhere on the handlebars or dashboard.
I'd like it to work like the ignition on my Harley Ultra - unlock, turn to "Ignition," push the starter, then remove the key and place in pocket and the motor keeps on chugging. Instructions provided must be written for the electrically challenged - like me.
Any ideas?
Oh, yeah... and the package should include something to block off the under-leg hole.

If the relocated ignition switch is too easy to access, it could be real easy to "hot wire" it and drive off. I haven't really looked much at our existing setup though.

You could even cut out the little ractangles in there to reveal polished metal underneith. Or have some sort of knurled surface. Or like diamond plate... But yeah, you'd need to have some sort of traction.

I know someone has relocated the ignition switch to the dash hole where the factory clock or tach goes. I think someone was offering a kit but I can't find it again.

Nice idea, but i agree you need some sort of traction on it. I like the idea of matching the iso grip. Problem for me is it would be around no.50 of things to make, I'm sure somebody will take the idea and run with it.
If it can't be bought, I'll make it. If it can be bought i'll make it anyway!

Boogiman offers an ignition relocation switch I believe. I think it replaced the clock/tach area on the dash.
Learning from my mistakes... again and again.
