Does anyone know how to open the speedometer up? I am trying to install a LED light on the white face of the speedo that will be tied into my green blinker reminder on the tank so I will remember to turn them off during the day. I know I should just use the old left thumb press thing a million times to get used to it, but until i do I would like the added safety of seeing the little red LED light up on the face of my speedo. I've removed the speedo and the chrome housing but i dont know how to open it the rest of the way up and i dont want to break it.

Good idea - can't offer any help tho....at this point, even if I do the mod, I would still be hittin the cancel button all the time....it's a habit you learn fairly quickly....

Change of plans, doesnt look like i can crack it open with out breaking it. Ive decided to place it just above the turn signal switch and to the right of the high beam switch. I think i can actually wire it right to the turn signal and it looks like there will be plenty of room for the LED. Ill send pictures if i get it to work.

I had these on my bike for a while.
They are actually bulb holders with hi intensity leds inside. One for indicators and one for oil pressure.
Worked well.
