Good news is I think I finally got my jetting spot on, bad news is I partially stripped one of the holes for the left carb bowl screws from all the friggin' jet changes I've been making. There are still some threads in there that the screw is holding on to but I'm not sure what I should do about it. Should I loktite the screw, try to rethread the hole, or just leave it be?

Inside or outside screw hole? What setup did you end up with?

I did that. Longer screw fixed it.
Out of curiosity, which one? I stripped the outside screw on the rear of the left carb, it is one of the ones that holds the idle adjuster.

Ditto Benny. Thanks for the ideas. I didn't even think about using a longer bolt.

Yeah there's a little thread left in there. The other thing with those bottom bolts is they can actually go all the way thru (I think), so be sure the new one is plenty long. I think there might even be enough room to put a nut on it if you were to completely strip it out, but I'm not sure.

Greg, Let me guess! The inside rear screw of the left carb. I really should go ahead and get a longer screw and quit leaving that one dangling there. It will get tight enough to hold itself in place.

Nope, that's the hardest one to get out with the carbs still on the bike but it was the outside rear screw on the left carb like Benny's.

I don't know about you ham fisted wrenchers. I tell ya greg, they don't need to be that tight! The gasket seals really well, just tighten them a tad more than finger tight, sorta like the plugs. And be sure there are little lockwashers on them too.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

I haven't lost any of the lockwashers but they try real hard to roll away if I drop them. I know that the carbs are a lot softer than the bolts and I never went 'gorilla' on them but I guess I did one too many 'tightness checks' when buttoning everything back up.
