Hiya all
Went to a bike night on Tuesday on the ST.
I'd known of this bike meet for a few years - just never went is all.

The evening was nice 'n warm so I decided to put some more miles on the bike.

It seemed every bike you could imagine was there from Monkey bikes to tricked out Busas to old Triumphs etc.
Lots of cruisers as well as rice burners.

Met a guy named James (I see he finally managed to join this evening - thanks Phil!) who was riding a very nice black America.
He had modified Speedmaster pipes - photo to follow.

Anyway, a good evening, I'll probably go again, and I managed to 'open up' the ST too

The dealer slightly annoyed me after I managed to get 750 miles in over the weekend, he tells me I have to wait 10 days for the 500 miles service!
WTF?
Called back to check on the ETA for the panniers and top box and he says go and put more miles on it - 1200/1300 miles won't be an issue.
Oh yeah, don't be scared to use the revs ......

Where I come from, we call that a red rag to a bull ...

Jimbos America with modified Speedy pipes

Bike meet before it gets busy. An hour later you could barely walk round

Stopped for coffee
Shari, don't ask!!
Downtown Blend it WAS NOT!!
BTW, I'm running low, you might want to warn Willoughby's to stock up for when I get there!!

Welcome Jim. Good to have another 'local' member.

Ade, Where was the bike meet? You didn't say!!
Maybe we could get a local meet, before you go to the states.

And have all you guys turn up???
NO WAY!!

Here's another pic that will explain everything:

Bassetts Pole
Right on the island where the A38 meets the ... er ... road past The Belfy (A446????).
See other pic, right by the McD's too.
Their takings must go through the roof on Tuesdays in the summer
Again, the pic was taken early in the evening shortly after I got there.
By the end of the night, the place is rammed.

There is a nother, MUCH smaller, meet nearer to me on Sunday evenings.
It's at a pub (natch!) and they put a BBQ for the bikers - and it's free!

I wasn't sure if they would continue doing this one because they lost their young son in a motorbike accident last year and the place shut for a while.

I might give it a try next time we have a dry Sunday.
Not sure how many bother going - especially if'n it's not dry!

Ah, have been meaning to go there for ages, about 3/4 hour from me.
Another good one is The Oak at Hockley Heath, their meet is on a Wednesday night, normally a have a couple of stunt riders in the car park as well.

I'm pretty sure that's the pub I go to each Boxing Day.
They have a classic bike meet there.
Usually VERY good and everything from old brits to new Jap stuff.
Usually some interesting cars too.

Easy for me to go too.
Planning on being in Arizona this Christmas so I'll miss it for the first time in a few years

Worth a look to blow away the Christmas Day cobwebs.

It's usually a case of two feet out too, the car park is usually a bit frosty when I get there!!

When I bought my America new they didn't give me a manual, its a three hr. trip to the dealer, so I told them to mail it to me, it took them 3 weeks to get it to me, by then I had 800 miles[rained alot] they told me 7 weeks til service, this was in the end of May and they wanted to schedule me for july. I went to another dealer and there were all kinds of former customers talking real bad about the dealer i bought my bike from. Ten days is a long time but it could be worse!

Don't know it mate.
Moved to B-u-T a year ago and I'm not realy a booza bloke as I don't drink any more

I'm guessing they have a bike night?

Do you know the local pub I was refering to earlier (heading towards the Tattenhill Airfield) towards Hanbury?
I don't know it's name but it's right on the small 5-way trafic island, oposite a petrol station.
Do you know if it's any good?

Hi Jim,

I went to the Vic last month - see this thread:

http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...true#Post114990

We never did get around to organising a meet there

I'm localish so would be up for a meet, but won't be able to make it on a Thursday for the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Thats quite a gathering Adey.

Who decided on going to a restaurant that served fine American Cuisine.

As for your ST. You could change the oil yourself. I think thats pretty much all they do, that and check to make sure all the bolts are still tight. At least if you do it yourself you know its been done properly.

Yep, obviously caught him unaware, he did keep snooping off every once in a while. I think he was after that bird again from Driffield....
