I was a member a couple of years back and going to buy a TBA. On the way to the dealer I was hijacked by the Power Ranger Rice burning fraternity and bought a Yamaha TDM ! Now I've seen the light ! My brother-in-law bought a hog and came over to show it off ! WOT A LOAD OF UGLY, FLABBY ***** ! (and the bike isn't much better) \;0)..

So I gets my ****** to the Triumph dealership today, sorts out a new Silver BA, gets a good deal off the salesman for my rice burner (it was his first day) and will order my bee-oot-eee-full baby next week when I've decided on the goodies I want ! The prodigal son has returned ! Allelluja !

Now what 'goodies' should I go for ?

If you do it today you MIGHT regret it. If you CAN'T do it tomorrow you WILL regret it.

Buy your goodies after you get the bike. There are far better accessories available than most of the Triumph made ones, and most are far better quality, especially chrome bits.

A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice. Pat

The prodigal son has returned. Welcome back to the flock my child. You have redemmed yourself, and your sins are forgiven.

If'n it IS Birmingham, perhaps certain members on this site will FINALLY STOP calling this Yam-Yam a Brummie.

If you got in on the free $500. worth of Triumph parts with a new purchase deal, get the tall sissy bar/rack from the dealer if you will be 2-up riding. None of the aftermarket ones look anywhere near as good. DON'T get a Triumph windshield as there are too many better ones available. I would think about replacing some of that gray metal stuff with chrome (valve cover, sprocket cover, footrests).

Of course, other than Triumph stuff, aftermarket exhausts and carb jets are a must unless you like a really quiet bike and don't won't the extra power.

Other sites - You might also want join Brent's mint of the month club at www.newspeedmaster.com but beware, you may lose your wallet!

Brummie,

We all make mistakes at some point in our lives, thank god you corrected yours.

When I bought my new BA I got it with the $500 of freebies. I went with the high back sissy bar and seat$375. Believe me it will come in handy. I also bought the chrome shifter cover $47, I can live with the silver gear box and rear footpeg holders for now. This winter they are gone. The rest of the money went for helments.

Welcome back.

Dinqua is right, there are many after market goodies available that surpass the factory ones, however, if you can add factory goodies through the dealer and have the price worked into the bike financing it may be easier to manage rather than coming up with the cash before hand. If that's a concern. Other than that happy riding and welcome back to the land of the living.

I agree with Dinqua and Reaper, and add that my dealer ordered from the newspeedmaster.com site... worked it into the financing... if you are financing, then, check with your dealer, they will probably be able to get more than just Triumph parts... if you are not financing, still check with the dealer, odds are they can get and will install the aftermarkets for you before you pick up the bike... It's nice to not have to take responsibility for screwing something up right away . Welcome back, suppose we won't speak of your rice burning days again.

My '02 has had no problems with the Triumph accessories, in fact she's had none of the most common issues I've read about on various posts over the years. She just keeps on scootin down the road and looks good doing it.

Ade, he hasn't said which 'Birmingham', and as Jan has a Beemer now, you may well have to stay as our token 'Brummie'

You have left the dark side of the wannabe cursers, and have truly redeemed yourself. You will feel the full effect of TBA and it’s wisdom as soon as you pull out of the dealer parking lot. Vrooooom.

yup, true Brummie. Born in Handsworth, grew up in Vauxhall within smelling distance of Saltley Gas works. Now live in Northfield on the banks of the River Rea opposite the Daffodil park. Idylic !!
