Hiya guys I'm looking into a bike to bike comms system and a UK company which sells all over the world has on their website, something like 'UK only' on some of the systems.
As it's Sunday and they're not there, does anyone know if there is some kind of restriction for bike to bike wireless comms systems in the US?
The other thing is, systems in the US might be cheaper than over here (everything else seems to be!!!). Anyone favour one system over another?
Rider to pillion wouldn't do it, it needs to be bike to bike. Cheers

EDIT:
Found 'em using Google (ah, Google - where would we be without it?).
They have a catalogue in PDF format.
Prices seem on a par with other stuff but they do have a shed load of very good reveiews on there too.
Thanks for the info Paul.

I use a Chatterbox FRS X-2 that works great bike-2-bike and driver to pax. Made by the HJC helmet folks. They have an X-1 advertised good for 5 miles. The X-2 is suppose to be good for 2 miles, but 1/2 is more real world. One of the possible UK distributors is Equinox

Yes. They only come 1 each. But with one you can do driver to passenger.
A Chatterbox FRS Multisport can be had for 149 about anywhere. X-2 goes for about 200 and X-1 for 230+.
After using one it's really handy bike-2-bike. But instead of spending hundreds, you can probably get a couple of cheap FRS radios anywhere and plug in a headset/speaker set. The good thing about Chatterbox is it's all plug and play. You don't have to chase down pieces/parts. But having said that, you don't get everything. It's battery operated (battery was good for 10-12 hour riding days) with an AC charger. A bike/battery cord is exta. You only get 1 headset, so if you want to talk with a pax the additional headset is extra.
You can route a radio (I use a Sirius) and cell phone through it. I ebay'd one and would not recommend these thru ebay unless it's a new unit.

There you go you see!!
Those prices, I assume, are $$ You'd be talkin' the same in ££ over here.
Your $230 would be around £130. OUR £230 is around $400.

After a quick look I see what you mean. A Chatterbox FRS starts at £149.95 when it can be had for $140 (about £77) here! If it would work you could order a set here and have it shipped to you, but the electrics would get hosed. Guess they got you by the short curleys! Sorry man.

Most stuff in the UK works on 110-240 volts, 240 being our normal voltage. Stuff from the US usually only works on 110 volts.
I'm coming out there in September so I'll decide then what, if anything, I do about it. Cheers.
