I bought a set of Honda Magna saddle bag brackets. It comes with 4 bolts, 3" long of which 1 1/4" is threaded. The bracket itself is a fairly close match to the two rear bolt's pattern. The original 2 rear bolts are 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" and fully threaded.
So I take it that, yes the Magna Saddle Bag bracket will fit but you have to buy new bolts?
Can these be used for bolt on bags also?

When I installed my Triumph Slants and brackets the supplied bolts were exactly the same as the existing fender bolts. Wouldn't have mattered so I used the originals.
As long as you can fully tighten the 4 new bolts you should be OK.
Put your hand up under the fender to make sure there is no interference with the tire.
If there is an excess sticking out then you might want to try the original bolts before buying new ones.

One doesn't tighten all the way in. Both bolts do not touch the tire but are too close for comfort. The original bolt heads prevent them from entering the bracket.

Question I have been wanting to ask. I have the Triumph Tall sissy bar and luggage rack. Can I use the Magna bracket with this configuration. Where would you put the bracket first, middle or last in combination with this set up. Is the Magna bracket chrome what year and size of magna are we dealing with here or better yet what is the part number. I have the top bag of the CORTECH Tri-bag system and I am wanting to add the side saddlebags but not without a bracket. Thanks
Mark

I've had my Magna guards for almost 3 years now. I just went ahead and bought stainless allen bolts of the proper length, and in a few different sizes. Some sizes I use just for the sissybar, and a bit longer ones for the sissybar/guards combo. The best fit for the guards/sissybar is sissybar first and then guards, and that configuration should be intuitive the first time you try and mount both just from the way the mounting points are shaped. Just take your stock fender bolts down to a good hardware store so you can match thread size and diameter. You'll also want to pick up some anti-sieze compound to prevent galling of the threads. These nut plates on our fenders can sometimes cross thread a bolt, and the anti-sieze helps to prevent that from happening IME.

I ordered my bag guards from MAW , and they get them from MC Enterprises. MC's part # is 143. I'm sure you can just as easily go down to a Honda dealer and buy from them. Here's what MC lists: Saddle Bag Guard (Honda VF750 Magna & Deluxe 1993-2003)

I change out my bike quite often from having the sissybar on, and taking it off when riding solo....about once a week. Bag guards I only use on trips which is 3-4 times a year.
