I just picked up a Triumph Lightbar that was previously installed on another America. Unfortunately the wiring was simply cut off. Was there a plug for the lightbar? There are 5 wires in the lightbar harness. Blue/white, Red, Brown and two black. Can anyone tell me what each of them are to?

Blue/white goes to a relay for the 12 volts and to the lamps (white wires on the lamps).

Red is from the switch on the light housing to one of the solenoid terminals on the relay.

Brown is the other end of the switch and goes to the accessories fuse (10 amp. I believe) via the accessory lighting connector.

One black goes from the accessory connector (ground) to the other solenoid terminal on the relay.

The other black goes to the lamp housings (ground).

Blacks are tied together.

All of this was in a wire harness that came with the lightbar kit...and is still part of the America

There should also be a 12 volt (always hot) wire from the accessory connector to the relay. When the relay is energized, the bluw/white wire gets the juice.

hope this helps.

Thanks, I really don't like that switch way out on the lamp. So if I put a switch on the dash and run it to a relay under the tank, run the blue/white to the power out from the relay and just ground the blacks I should be OK. Just bypass the original switch altogether. That blue/white seems sorta small but I guess it should do. I appreciate the help

Hopefully it's correct. I went from memory on a problem I have with my lightbar from his morning. goodluck!

Here's a schematic I've been working on for my Triumph light bar. Please note, I need to verify the wire colors. In particular the one from the aux lighting connector to the relay (pin 87). Plus, I need to verify the fuse # for the switched 12VDC.

That was it, I checked out the wiring this evening with a multimeter. I need to get a relay then I'll be all set. Thanks again.

Probably need to add that to the tech section.
