I just went to pull my plugs for the 1st time. 400 miles and it seemed to be running lean. Well the right hand plug was finger tight at best. It had some blow by on it and was definatly leaking. Should I tell the dealer, would this do any long term damage? And would this explain why the right pipe is still bluing while the left isnt? (AI removed at 80 mi, yes I should have checked the plugs them)
Thanks
Dill

I might be wrong about this, but I suspect that a combination of a low torque spec to avoid stripping the threads out of the head and the different heat expansion rate of steel and alumin(i)um is going to result in the plugs working loose over time. This should become part of your regular 'nutting anf bolting' routine.

She ran a lot better now that I have compression in both clyinders. If there is one reason to remove the AI, it makes plug checks a heck of lot easier. Now I just have to rejet.

Oh YES!!
I can't count the number of alumium heads on bikes and
cars I've had to fix cause of no anti-sieze!
Steel + alumium + heat - anti-seize = BIG $$$$$

I purchased the 18mm socket from Craftsman. Some cheaper sockets do not fit our bikes very well. The Craftsman is a good fit.
