Anyone have any ideas to make the America more retro? I want to do something like this, kind of like an old Bonneville, but a cruiser format. Let me know any ideas. Bolt on and direct replacements preferred as I am not a fabricator. Thanks.

The first and easiest is to add the knee pads. They definitely give it more the retro Triumph look.

You can use this as your inspiration....

Roundy, I love that bike! Wow, that is a good looking motorcycle. My dad had one and I think that would make him proud.

I have the kneepads already, was possibly thinking of gaiters and front number plate from Bellacorse. They make a front plate specifically for the America. Didn't know what else to do though.

Get a seat like Mac has.
Replace the rear peg holders with some HD softail tool boxes.
Chrome rack for the tank and for the rear fender
Fishtail pipes

One other way to old school your ride is to change the tank badges. You could either go with the eye brow or the garden gate badge(I have the eye brow).Oh by the way what mufflers are those?I am seriously thinking about that style. And one thing more as far as the retro thing, your heading in the right direction.

I have the egg crate style badge and knee pads on my black Speedmaster. The badges generate more attention than I could ever imagine. Every time I go riding, I get someone who wants to talk about the bike....its amazing. In fact, I even have people come up to me when they me start the bike up, I have the Sceptre pipes, and the sound of the bike draws people too. Its fun. I also have the air dam and fly screen for a sporty effect. I am adding little details as I go.

I only put the knee pads on when I go to the dealer for parts or accessories.
