I'm getting ready to do a valve shim job and would like to make up some locking pins for myself instead of buying them. Does anyone have any of these that can give me the diameter of them plus the lengths of each leg from the bend?

If you'd like, you can borrow my set. You really don't need the actual wrench, just the "L" pins, so mailing through the post office shouldn't be much of a hassle.

Thanks for the offer Michael but it would be easier for me to just get the measurements for the pins. I can have them made up in about 5 minutes.

I found a 3/16" x 5" pin punch fits nicely. About $2 each at Sears. Hacksaw off the 5" end to about 2.5 inches and they fit fine.

Where do you get these, from the dealer?

Yes. Here's the particulars:
Camshaft backlash gear locking pins and wrench: T3880330 (@ $44.00)

You also get the spanner wrench to retension the gears if necessary.

If I remember correctly, I paid about $60 for the pins and retensioning tool from Bob at Palm Beach Triumph...
