I'm new to Triumph and it's been about ten years since I've owned a motorcycle. In the service manual I can't find any mention for transmission maintenance. Do you not have to change the fluid??

Welcome aboard. The transmission and motor share oil. When you change the motor oil, you are changing the transmission fluid as well.

Thanks for the quick response. I was hoping it was something like that...the less maintenance the better. I'd rather be riding on the weekends!

Zippy,
Now that you've got a good motorcicle, you'll be riding weedends AND through the week, and whenever else you want.
These are great bikes.

Not only do they share oil, the gearbox is fed pressurized filtered oil. Unless you are really poor at clutching and shifting, it should last a very long time.

That's the thing you use to keep from stalling the engine when you want to make a short stop.
