Consumer Reports (July 2006)has an excellent article on wax. The black left side pannels of my 02 TBA have had white wax residue on them that I have not been able to remove for years. The CR magazine has a test category "compatibility with plastic" that is about this. It also said that a commercial plastic cleaner would remove the wax residue. I bought "Mothers Back to Black" ($6 at Autozone)and it immediately removed the wax residue and perhaps some oxidation and within one minute made my side pannels all look like new. As for the top rated wax in the CR tests, it was "Black Magic Wet Shine Liquid Wax" which I bought at Autozone for $8. The #2 was Turtle Wax Carnauba Car Wax". Both of these "were compatible with plastic" and not supposed to leave any wax or white residue on the porous black plastic side pannels that we have.
Hope this helps someone.

Cool. I've alwys used the Turtle carnuba stuff. Good to see someone else thinks it's great stuff too.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

Thanks for the input. I have been suffering from the white residue on what is suppose to be black, can't wait to give it a try.
