Greetings!
I keep seeing in text, and also in signature lines, where AIs have been removed.
I am told my totally stock 2006 America has double-walled exhaust pipe headers so should I worry about bluing?
Once the AI is removed, what, if anything, happens: a. Riding/power response b. Gas mileage? c. Sound/noise? d. Impact on original 2-year warrantee?
I like the smooth, quiet nature of my America. Have any of you any other valid comments/issues that I should consider before going down the 'removal' pathway?
Thanks!

One thing about removing it, it's totally reversible! So don't worry. No effect on anything other than preventing bluing. Yes they will blue even tho they are double walled, just not as bad. Look into adjusting the air mix screws too, they are classically mal-adjusted from the factory.

If you have the original pipes, you might notice that the bike is slightly quieter, as the reed valves in the control unit make a very soft clicking sound. Very few dealers will say anything about AI removal affecting the warrantee. If yours does, find another dealer because you can't trust them. There will be no performance or fuel consumption differences, at least not now. Maybe in 60K miles or so, your bike might perform better that it would have because the exhaust valves will likely be in better condition. The exhaust system will run cooler and pop less. As long as your typical ride is long enough to heat the pipes enough to drive off condensation, this will make the entire exhaist system last longer and will help reduce discolouration of the finish.
