I am sitting at home recovering from back surgery. The weather is beautiful.....and I can't ride my bike. This is driving me nuts!!! I have to go back and see the doc on the 22nd but I have a feeling he won't let me ride for some time after that. I have new shocks and front springs that I would like to install before I ride her again which would help the ride but I'm not going to take a chance until the doc clears me. I'm bumming.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger......and then it hit me.

Sorry to hear about that. I will hope for snow for you though so it doesn't hurt so bad when you look outdoors. Hey, It's WI, it is possible, eh? Heal up and get well before trying to ride.

Look at the bright side. When the time comes that you CAN ride, it's gonna be like you just got the bike all over again ! I actually try and force myself not to ride for as long a speriod as i can often just for that reason. The more you ride, the less exciting IMO. Of course some here will disagree. But for me it's always been too much of a good thing makes the good thing less good.

Hey Rick, even though it may drive you nuts, if you wait on the doctor to clear you, it will definitely be worth it wehn you can ride again since you will lessen the chance of re-injury and can relax and really enjoy it. Dale, I am going to have to completely dissagree. It's never enough. Soren

Defintely heal properly before riding. Too many stories of re-injuries that cut into even more riding time.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the well wishes. The part that I hate the most is that just before I went in for surgery I rejetted the bike and it is now running superb. No lag, tons more power, and more of a pleasure to ride. But at least I have that to look forward to when I can get back on. I also have shocks and springs waiting to go on.....I'll have to "sneak" those on before I am cleared to ride. Maybe the doc will let me ride earlier if he knows that it will ride better?????

Send out for a fan and 500 travel videos, it might help. Especially if you fit one of these on your chair. http://www.freepatentsonline.com/4949068.html

Recover and heal before you ride and you will enjoy it more, My opinion would be working on the bike would be harder on your back then riding. Warren

Warren,
You might be right about that. I thought maybe set things up and take a step or two everyday in getting these parts on. The wife could help with anything that I need to bend down to do. I just feel like I have to accomplish something. I know the right thing to do would be to wait. I don't want to screw things up and wind up back on the table. (Although the Morphine drip was nice. )

Nologic,
If it makes you feel any better none of us will ride our bikes until you are able to also.....NOT!!! I do wish you a "Speedy" (get it?) recovery though. Take care.

Thanks. I guess wishing me a "America" recovery just wouldn't cut it, would it?
