One of my winter mods may be a new seat.Rode some long rides and the buns got a little stiff, but nothing I could not handle! I was curious,is there that big of difference between the Corban and the stock? Also I have the crome seat rail on my bike so would any one know if the Corban seat be compatable with it?

seat rail is compatible with the corbin. i think most folks who have switched to The Corbin will tell you they are glad they did.

Hi Khatt,
Get a Corbin, they are great seats. Since you are planning this for a winter mod, check with BigJack. He is coming down here in Septhember-October for a visit and he will get to try out my Rick Mayer saddle. BigJack is happy with his stock seat, but when he tries mine - he may change his mind, it's incredible. Just a thought, because Rick takes about 5 weeks to turn around your stock seat in the winter - mine was 12 weeks since I got it to him too late in the spring. He's the best - bar none. Can you say "buttgasm"? I've owned 3 Corbins and they are great, butt they don't compare. A chrome rail is no problem for him - it will be a custom built seat made for your hind parts.
If you order and pay for your seat, he'll send you a "build date". Get your stock seat pan to him before that date and you'll be without a seat for 2 weeks - not that bad during winter months. I sent mine the day after I ordered, then got my build date a few days later. mistake!
I did have another seat to use, but I wish I'd have waited.

Last year I went on a long police escorted run with the stock seat 3 hours without a single stop. My buns were killing me. Ibought the corbin after that run. This year same run no pain at all HUGE CHANGE

My personal two favorite mods affecting comfort:
1. Corbin 2. Floorboards
The Corbin was $324 shipped (I chose not to go the Corbin pillion pad route) at the time I bought it. Keep in mind studs, piping/leather color, and textured leather options are at no extra charge. I've read several posts where stock seat modifications done by someone other than the owner costs much more.
Just my 2 Zloty .....
Regards,
Tom

There are a couple available for sale here too if you ask around. I sold mine to Matt but Larryshep has one for sale last I knew, maybe even chy? If you order a new one, be sure to ask for the SOFT seat. There seems to be huge differences in the softness. Mine had to be sent back it was so hard, jaymos is the same way, but wojo's is soft as a baby's behind. Maybe the ones with the stitching on the tops are the reason. I dunno, just be sure to ask.

No, what you do is take he head off one mirror and stack donuts on the stick. You can get better than a half dozen on there.

Do you have any pics of your new seat. I will be getting one from Rick but for now I will have to put up with the pain.

I'm also thinking of buying a corbin. Is there any other brands out there to look at? Or is that it as far as options go, other than a custom made seat.

All I can say is “do the Corbanâ€Â. Road for about 6 mo’s with the stock seat. I was ready to get off the bike after about 70 miles just to rest my butt. After buying the Corban, I ended up doing a trip to Florida (about 925 miles each way). I only stopped for gas and something to eat. Could never have done that with the stock seat. I also have the seat rail on my bike and there is no problem with using it with the Corban.

Funny that they don't mention that on their web site.. They only say that the seat will feel hard but it will break in over time. The Corbin I have is pretty hard. Took some getting used to, but it fits like a glove now, and the backrest is worth it's weight in gold.
Cheers, Brad
