I had a very similar problem. I turned the mixture screws 1/2 turn more (out) and poof... Poping gone. It went on the dyno at dealer and no problem. No need to rejet.

I have mine at 4 turns out and still get popping. How far can you turn them out?

If you have to turn 'em out more than 4 turns then 1 size up on the pilots is probably required...Grzegorz, have you tried turning the pilot air screws out 3 to 3 1/2 turns? If so, then you probably need the 45 pilot jets.

There is a screw at the bottom front of each carb. You have to remove the "plug" that covers them. A small screw threaded into them and pull with a pair of pliers. There is a thread on this web site, just search in archived forums. It's pretty easy, you'll be surprised how much more responsive your bike is.

I hate to labor this thread, but I did finally get the d-tool. Well i turned both to the left to open 1/2 turn. I found the bike a little more responsive. I did not hear to much popping between gears. But let me ask do you all hear popping when you down shift. I do and i don't think you can do much with this. Thanks for the advise, Doug

Doug a little popping is normal for this type of carb setup because when you decellyou are off the gas yet the suction from engine RPM causes the slide to open...causing a lean condition...if your getting excessive poping then youmay want to turn the screws out a bit more or (if needed) change your pilot jets to 45's

You also might want to run both screws in, counting turns, to see if they are both the SAME, then back them back out the same and re-adjust from there. Are both pipes bluing the same?

Hey Ben, I don't mean to jump in, but your response has me thinking. My left side is showing a little more blue than the right. just inside the "crease" at the top. Everything seems to sound ok. I do get an occassional puff under my butt, it' happens on rev for downshift if i really snatch it quickly.
Just to re-cap my setup. 06 TBA Snorkels gone AI's gone at 300 Modified stock Exhaust 2 3/4 turns out stock jets etc.
thanx

Double check the screw settings are the same for both. All the way in, then back out 2.5 each. Then I'd say ballance the carbs! I remember someone saying the couldn't believe how often they do that... And it's a good idea to do it every time you fiddle with something. A liiiiitle difference in blue between the pipes is ok. Also, after adjusting it will be hard to tell what is new blue and what is leftover... Unless you polish the bajezus out of them.

I did the airbox mod and rejetted to 132 per the calculator. I'm at 2 3/4 turns. Very small poping on decel, but I like that. Very good response everywhere in the throttle position. My only problem is when I blip the throttle (flip it real quick:if that's what bliping is:) I get a ..Hmmm how do I say this? A dead spot. It kind of dies then grabs. Like chokes? Almost a backfire at the carb. I hope I make sense. If so, whats going on and how do I fix it?
This is at idle When I "blip".

I am gonna move this question to another thread. Seems more appropriate. Poping is not my problem. New Thread will be "Bliping" (hesitation while doing this). Moderators, if I have the wrong definition of Bliping delete my stuff so I don't go screwing others up. thanx
