I am wanting to chop my rear fender and lower the bike using the lowering blocks

The blocks lower 2" Do you need to lower the front too or can you just lower the back? IF someone has done this how does it handle?

Cutting rear fender? Its plastic...what did you use to cut it?

Thanks
Steve

The rear fender is steel, its the front that is plastic. Just use an angle grinder or Dremel on the rear.

The way we used to bob rear fenders was to cut the front and then roll the fender forward. Much easier to make it look nice when the cut edge is out of sight.
As for lowering, you can drop the bike about 2 inches with minimal effect on the handling if you use the aftermarket shocks and front springs that are available from Progressive and a couple of other sources. If you lower the rear only, it increases the effective rake angle in the steering. This makes the bike a little less stable at very slow speeds and more stable at higher speeds. So, if you really like the look, be prepared to wobble a little when nearly stopped and work a little harder to go around turns.

I put the Progressive 412's on my bike, plus Boogieman's lowering blocks; you can see some pics in my gallery; I love the lowered stance.

I just looked in your gallery and it looks fantastic! What length shocks are you using?

I gotta ask - I am already dragging my footpegs pretty regularly in turns. Does lowering the ride make that much worse?
