My 2005 TBA with only 235 mi. on it while out for a ride in 90 deg. after about 23 mi. just shut down?? I tried to restart with no luck at first. I let her sit fir about 5 min and with a loud backfire she started and stalled again. Then she started and ran fine for 10 min and did it again. This time when she restarted I was able to limp her home. The only mod's i have are : AI removed, TORL's they were done by the dealer before delivery. I will call the dealer but was hopeing I could save that trip.

i would say let the dealer deal with it, especially since still under warrenty, sucks that you have to go there though. hopefully it can be figured out quickly

I'm betting it's a fuel issue... either dirt/water in the fuel line, or a blocked/squished tank breather hose. Take it to your dealer tho... at this point you shouldn't have to stuff around with it yourself.

Check your battery connections?

In order of probability:
1. Fuel flow problem.
2. Loose battery cable connection, probably the frame end of the ground cable.
3. Heat sensitive igniter unit.

Thanks for all the great info, I spoke to the Dealer today and they asked if they could come pick it up and return it when repaired at no charge. How's that for service after the sale!

My 05 died on my after less than 100 miles. The positive battery post had formed some sort of residue that was causing the circuit to lose ground when it got hot. I scraped it off and now it runs fine.

I'd hit it with some dielectric grease to prevent that in the future too. Cheap insurance.

Well the dealer sent a mech. out to pick up the bike and he checked the obvious, vent line, battery terminals, ect. He determend that for some reason there was no spark so off on the trailer she went. Will post update as soon as I know.

30Amp fuse may be loose in the fusebox which will cause your bike to stop running. Happened to me after 500 miles. The fuse just fell out. Since the connections were ruined by whoever assembled the fuse box I just bypassed the box all together and installed a waterproof in-line 30A fuse. Hope it all works out.

Well the dealer called yesterday and said the problem was a bad coil, they found it late in the day. He said they don't have it in stock but on Tuesday when they open he will remove one from a new TBA and have the bike back to me Tues night.

Are these coils a weak link or is it just the luck of the draw?
