The sickness is back. I'm broke as hellll, but I bought a set of Flanders +2 buckhorns on ebay last night. Not a bad deal at $19 + shipping. Of course, I hope the OEM cables with still fit, but I'm guessing I'll be replacing those. While I'm at it, might as well do new grips. And if you're going to do all that, might as well move the wires to the inside of the bar. And if you're all in at that point, might as well get the light-bar from Brent and move the turn signals off the bars. And if I've got to do all that, might as well take the tank off and send it to paint. While I'm shipping, might was well include the fenders. And I can't ride while all this is going on, so I might as well send the pipes out for blacking. And what's the point of blacking stock pipes, so I might as well order the scepters while I'm at it. Of course, I'll need a new helmet to match the new paint. Oh yeah, and I'm pretty sure by the time I'm done I'll be needing a place to live as my wife is sure to throw me out. But man, what a sweet looking ride I'll have!

Geeez... you just got the thing back from the dealer, didn't you??? I prefer to stretch the mods out over time.. easier on the wallet, easier on the home climate, and I get to go "yeah, I like that!!" several times instead of just one big one..
More flags
More fun!

Man, were you in my garage last winter?!? That's almost exactly what happened to my bike. Bought the freak and went to install it, but once I found out you pretty much have to disassemble the bike to put it in, it just snow balled from there.

Well here's the deal. My headers got blued while in for service. I don't know what exactly happened, b/c the AI is removed, but someone on here mentioned it happened to them when the let the bike sit a idle too long. So that's my guess. Frankly, I don't have the patience to use the blue-away, tried for about an hour and it had next to no effect. So I thought, since this is my anti-harley, I don't really want chrome. Figured I would get them (headers) powder coated. Figured i could just use my stock drilled out mufflers. But, if I'm going to do it they might as well match. I found that you can sometimes buy slip-ons before they're chromed and a very reasonable price. So there you go.
At the same time, I found a set of Flander +2" Buckhorns, brand new that I picked up for $19. So that's like no money, and as long as I'm at it those Iso-Grips are like $40. Now the cables will be tricky. We have a little room, but I'm not too confident that I'll be able to stay stock with +2, but with any luck. As for the turn-signals on the bars. They've always bugged me. And if I have to remove them anyway, what could it hurt to go ahead and put them on the forks?
So it's really the exhaust and bars that are getting done. But, that being said, I'm jonesing for paint. That however may have to wait a little while if i don't start working and stop playing on here and dreaming up stuff to do to my bike!
And yes, just got out of the shop, but she's running like a dream now. So by-gones!
