What do you get when you lean into a right hander when your tires ride over a metal trench cover with water and oil? A sore shoulder, bruised knee and arm and three new turn signals when the bike hit. Could have been much worse, thankfully it wasn't. So to bottom line it: Need you input on after market turn signals (front and rear).

Steve,
Glad your doing better.
I put these on my bike and I really like them. Not to big or to small and they're very good quality for the price. You'll need to get JP cycle 1" chrome spacers for the rear to get past the license plate.

Steve: Hope you are doing okay. Did they have advance motorcycle warning signs out. Here if there is a bump or rough road ahead they have "motorcycles use extreme caution" signs. Dave

Physically I'm doing well. IF you have to lay down a bike I don't think it's possible to do less injury than what I did. Shoulder is a little messed up, but getting better each day. Right knee looks like a purple basketball but doesn't hurt and I have full range of motion.... As for the conditions that morning. Just finished working a 12 hour night shift and was riding home. It had been raining that night so the road was wet. I pulled off I-5 to get gas and was coming up to a right hand corner. I saw the metal trench plate and slowed way down, entering the corner I made a conscience decision to not lean as a normal turn since it was metal and wet. I thought I cleared the plate and started to accelerate slowly. I guess my back tire was still on the plate and the bike whipped out from under me. No way to counter steer or lean to correct the bike, it happened way to fast. The bike did a 180 degree spin on the right side. Broke both front pumpkin turn signals, right rear turn signal, ground away some of my D&D exhaust and chewed up the right handlebar end cap. Knocked both mirrors loose and tweaked the handlebar riser slightly. The rear brake pedal was tweaked also. Not a scratch to the rear or front fenders, my driving lights or my tank. I've been riding for 30 years and this was the first time I had an on-road accident. More shocked at myself than anything else. I knew I should have used caution, and at the time I thought I did. Like I said it could have been worse. So now I buy parts and get back on it. Might wait awhile to ride in wet conditions on metal trench coverings again.

I have the Kuryaken (sp) "silver bullets" retrofitted on my SM, and I'm quite happy with them. I have photos posted on my gallery. Glad you weren't too badly hurt.

Grump I really appreciate the offer of parts, but this is a good excuse to dress up the bike a little bit. I'll more than likely move the front turn signals down to my light bar or on the forks..... I take the small Silver Bullet are standard. Any issues with rerouting wires and wiring them up? Someone said I'll need some 1 1/2" spacers for the rear?

Steve, sorry to hear of your mishap, but glad to hear it's not worse.
