ok dont beat me ,im sure this has been on here before but it looks like the speedmaster doesnt have as many out there as others,im looking for saddle bags for my 05 speedmaster to carry my notebook computer in,i would like to have hard ones to secure a little better ,but i would do leather if it looks good and offers weather protection and i guess i could put a small lock on it(i know its more of a deturent it not going to stop someone if they want in it),so if any one could give me pics,and all i have to buy to mount them and prices and where to buy them ,i would like to have some kind of quick disconnect set up

I think you may actually be the first to ask specifically about a laptop! I would think that any bag you get as long as it is big enough should be ok, and I would consider getting something specific to holding a laptop to go IN the bags, ya know?

Great question. I bought my Saddlemen Drifter Jumbo Slant bags specifically for carrying my laptop & junk back & forth to work. I used the EasyBrackets to mount them. The bad news is the laptop barely fits because of the height of the bag. It fits, but you'll want to measure your notebook to see if it'll work. In fact, I can't put the laptop with the carrying case in the saddle bags and had to jury rig a bag.
That being said, the bags are great. And I DO use them for the laptop.
And the good news is there are LOTS of other options out there for saddlebags.

You could get an Axio hard backpack or an Ogio soft pack . Or something like a T-Bag computer case if you have a bar to strap it to. Do a Google on motorcycle laptop bag and you'll get a ton of options. Don't know if a seat mounted bag would be easier on a computer than saddlbags. Stuff in a saddlebag gets bounced around pretty good.

I second the backpack recommendation. I have an obus backpack that I carry my dell in occasionally. It's no real inconvenience on the bike and it feels safer there than in a saddlebag.
Also, that Axio IS pretty dope :-}

The backpack is great for a light computer, or any light load. I carried the laptop once with my backpack and would prefer to not carry it like that unless absolutely necessary.

I'd probably prefer a nice stout laptop bag that I can strap to my rack rather than in a bag or backpack...

Ditto. I strap my laptop briefcase to my backrest. The Saddleman bags are nice because you can put a small padlock on the roller buckles, it will keep honest folks out, but I'd never trust it with a laptop inside.
