I am in love with my new horn. It is unquestionably the loudest horn I've ever spent $40 on. I had to lengthen the wiring about 2 inches and put a 15 Amp fuse in place of the blown 10 Amp fuse, but it's loud enough to part the Red Sea. Not nearly as ugly as a lot of other horns, it readily bolts up to the stock horn mount (05 America) and is relatively discreet in appearance. www.stebel.it

What model is it. I bought the horn that NewSpeedmaster carries. If I remember right it is the Stebel brand. I didn't have to change fuses or wires. it is louder than stock, and sounds better too, but it is bigger. It is al black, so it sort of hides itself.

It's advertised as a chrome Stebel Ultra Compact 139db. If you install one... use the supplied relay. It's simple, but necessary.

Here's a link to the Stebel site with a sound byte: StebelWhat I don't see is a chromed version of the Nautilus "Compact" series at either the Twisted Throttle or the Stebel sites. Looks the the "chromed" Nautilus is 30% larger. JJ, I'm interested, but are you sure you have the "compact" series? If not, it looks like the standard Nautilus would fit if chrome is important (as it is not me). Regards, Tom

Man, it looks like every website calls it something different. One place had mine listed as a Compact Chrome, one had it listed as a Nautilus Chrome. Stebel Italy calls it a Nautilus series but only shows the black. I don't know how you'd be guranteed to get what you think you're asking for. I ordered a compact chrome so I call what I got a compact chrome. Some sites show whats called a Nautilus but the horn trumpets look like they point down.

can you use the existing wiring with it? Just change out the relay?

I used the existing wiring into the horn supplied relay and direct from the battery also to the relay. The horn button then becomes a switch for the battery to the horn. It pulls more power than is pushed by the stock horn system (it took me a couple of fuses to figure that out... I'm slow). The instructions with the horn look pretty cheesy, but they work.

So I need to up the fuse? You can't get the horn in chrome. I looked everywhere. Still, It seems like this is the best horn for the $$$.

Yes. The instructions call for a 20A with the supplied relay. The stock wiring will push the horn for just long enough for the horn 10A to cook off. Use the relay. Get a wiring connection with a blade fuseblock. Run it from the battery to the relay, and then run the horn wire terminals to the relay (they are plug and play). The horn button won't be live all the time because the button is switched. The connectors from the battery to the relay are not well covered (open to the air) so you'll want to put some silicon or something to protect the connections. If you boost the fuse in the fusebox, you're going to end up frying something.
Great horn... but use the relay.

And just looked at the label (DOH!)
The label says Nautilus Compact Chromed

They should, but looking in RS lately, it doesn't look like the ones when I was a kid and it seemed you could build a satellite phone with parts from Radio Shack. Try this from J&Ps.

Just installed the new Stebel horn that Brent sells for 20 bucks. I really like it. Simple replacement and makes a real nice loud sound. My wife was taking a nap so I took the bike out for a ride around the neighborhood so I could try the horn without waking her.

After a few close calls calls, and just coming across idiots blocking intersections and not paying attention while yapping on their cell phones, I ordered a Stebel Nautilus compact air horn from bikerhiway.com. It says it comes with all the wiring, connectors and inline fuse to do the job. Haven't decided where to mount it. If it's too big to go where my Fiamm is, I might put it down on the forward control cross bar. With the Freak on my bike, I might even put it under the seat.

I put mine on last week. It fits where the stock horn goes with just a little adjusting of the bracket. A relay comes in the package. I put the relay where the AI stuff used to be. Very loud and obnoxious, perfect for a horn (keep it to yourself Dwight, this one is too easy )
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Just installed my horn. I ended up putting it under the seat where there's now plenty of room with the Freak installed. I just thought it looked too bulky where the stock horn was. Man is this sucker LOUD! If my pipes don't wake up those cagers, this horn will do the trick. A few test blasts had the neighborhood dogs barkin' up a storm. Also can't wait to spring it on some unsuspecting riding buddies at bike night tonight. Oh yeah, they're going to love me.
